I honestly would have done the same thing if I was in your case (although I wouldn't have gone to the forums and complained about not getting more money than I deserved). But, throwing game 2 of the finals shouldn't be the wise thing to do. There should be extra money won for teams who win game 1 and 2.

Or the playoffs shouldn't be about money at all. This plus another discussion kicked off an idea in my head as well, which is in the suggestions forum as well. It's a ridiculous game design decision to provide teams with an incentive to not win.

The NBA and the owners of the NBA playoffs teams also do not want series sweeps. Extra TV revenue and extra gate receipts for every game. They all want game 7. Fans will sell out every game in the playoffs.

If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets.

Just came to a realization today.

If teams want more money why not throw Game 1 if they are home, that way they're opponent has more attendants and you get half of that and if you win game 2 you'll get more attendants too.

Happened to me on accident. Lost game 1 by 3 and completely murdered in Game 2 and I'm currently winning. I have had full attendance all POs and I think my opponent did too in game 2

Again
Nowhere is there a complaint about getting more money than I deserved
the comment was about a deciding finals game that would draw a lower attendance than game 1
Does anybody really think the extra cash I made in game 3 is going to make that much of a difference.
And let's also keep in mind, this season they cut the take of the home team from 66% to 50%
I only played 1 road game in the playoffs, but that wasn't my argument
I would have been just as happy, hell I've got a million coming next week

My team has the same number of attendants regardless of winning/losing the last game. ;)

And what was the last team in any of the major sports that came out and threw a game rather than finishing off a series so that they or the league or anyone else would get more money? I mean, depending on how you define the terms maybe the Black Sox gambling scandal? The postseason should be about determining champions, promotion and relegation, not something to be min/maxed for extra revenue.

I'm sorry. I forgot that since this was your thread I couldn't respond to anyone else and discuss the issue as a whole, rather than focusing specifically on your case. You're right, the attendance was screwy, because fans should care about promotion games every single time, even if the teams competing for them don't have to.

Jeez, the point was...and forget my own situation for a moment
If let's say some other team played their butts off and got beat on a buzzerbeater in overtime, attendance still would have gone down for game 3
get it?
Do you get it yet?
Do you need a translation to another language
in relating it to my situation I've already given up, you win, you all win
now please post away
