Honestly, I think the Wiz would be ahead of the 76ers (Maybe not if they sign Bynum), the Cavs, the Celtics, and the Raptors as of now. With Wall healthy last year, they were 24-25, which if they went a full season at that rate they'd most likely be in the playoffs in the east. Now they got a better starting small forward with Porter, and Wall and Beal will probably improve from last year, so I think that they're a legitimate contender for one of the final playoff spots in the east next year.

You say there are lots of GOOD free agents and then follow up with D12, Al Jefferson, Josh Smith, and Monta Ellis. Why didn't you say some of the good players? Just pulling your leg, but seriously that was not a list of productive players outside of Howard when he is healthy. The rest are poor shooting volume scorers with little to no D...just about the bane of existence according to the currently popular analytics (which I fully endorse, btw).

This new CBA is going to crush some teams. You can't afford to be wasting premium dollars on bench players anymore. I think the Wizards will come to regret the backup SF Martell Webster (5.5 per year for 3 years) signing and Spurs will regret giving Tiago Splitter 9 a year for the next 4 years especially after he was exposed in the Finals.

I'm a big Cavs fan and I'm excited to see if they can take the plunge and sneak in as the 8 seed this year. Won't be as big of an accomplishment as so many teams are all in for Wiggins this year. Kyrie should be an All-Star and will see some solid improvement from Waiters and Tristan after Mike Brown gets some defensive coaching into them. I think they will be close with a line-up of:

Irving/Free Agent PG
Waiters/Miles
Gee/Earl Clark (rumored to sign)
Thompson/Bennett
Varejao/Zeller

If they can add a veteran SF like a Danny Granger or flip Varejao/Thompson for a true Center like Asik or Pekovic they will be shoe-ins for the 8 seed.

I only mentioned the most talked about free agents. those are the most talked about.

Let me revise my previous standings.

1- Heat?
2- Pacers or Bulls/ Bulls if Rose is healthy
3- Pacers or Bulls/Pacers due to above
4- Nets or Knicks/Knicks if they improve performance greatly
5- Nets or Knicks/Nets due to above
6- Everybody not mentioned
7- Everybody not mentioned
8- Everybody not mentioned

That's more like it.

I would have Indiana and Chicago in that order, unqualified. I love Rose - we all do - but let's pump the brakes on Chicago a little. (Take it from someone who roots for them.) Especially since after today, Indiana has something resembling depth.

Yes. In other news. J.R. Smith is back with the knicks, Iggy goes to GS, Monta Ellis might be coming to denver.

I would assume so. First of all, they told Dwight that they would pursue J-Smoove. Secondly, it would almost impossible for Howard and Asik to play on the floor together offensively because the Rockets like to emphasize spacing the floor with shooters. Unfortunately neither Howard or Asik can shoot outside of ten feet away from the basket which could be a disaster when it comes to spacing. Adding Josh Smith would give the Rockets a forward who can score on the perimeter and in the paint and is a very versatile defender. They would probably swap Lin and Asik to get Smith and as long as they can find a serviceable point guard, it would be very smart for the Rockets to get Josh Smith.
