When you buy a player, he's got a salary, say $10k.
When you train players, their salary can go up. Maybe you train a PG in passing and his salary goes from $10k to $15k.
You created $5 of salary on your player through training. That $5k is your "training exemption".

If your team is running at a loss (expenses greater than income), the amount you're losing is compared with your training exemption. If you're losing more money than your training exemption, you pay an extra penalty fee (+50% of the overage I think?).

This 'feature' was added a number of seasons back when it was in style to stock up on cash reserves and buy ridiculous $400k salary players for a short run. Made the extra salary hurt even more, unless you "earned" the right by training it yourself.

That is pretty impressive. You'll finish above .500 easily after you play the OTHER conference. Those guys are EW.

This is just plain hurtful and mean spirited. Just because we are devoid of talent or aspirations doesn't mean we are immune to the effects bullying. We will not cower so easily when it comes to conference play. You will be required to play the FULL 48 minutes whether you need to or not. Take that.

Your threats are empty! Most of my guys will play 36 minutes tops before they sub out.

Should I have said "Those guys are YUCK"?

EW works for me. I was once cast in a script written by shikago. I was to play this hairy burley guy that gets trapped in a tent on a mountain with another man. I can't find the post to link. It is buried somewhere in the forums of my II.4 days. This EW division is much less stressful than those days. Anyways, my name in the script was to be EW.

Thank you. To be sure i understand:

If i buy a guy at 5k and train him up to 40K over the course of a few seasons, i would then be able to operate at a loss of 35k or less before i begin to get charged the extra 50 percent?

It evolved over time, but probably started here:

I'm working on a BB-inspired screenplay about a fictional character called VisiRoof. Initially mild-mannered, he becomes disenchanted with authority, & meets up with a burly northerner named Ewww. From that point on, they decide to play by their own rules. And take no guff. One adopts the nickname "Half-Cocked", the other "Loose Cannon". (Because you never know when either is about to go off!!!) It takes place in a fictional mash-up of LA & Alaska. With plenty of continuity errors. And casual nudity.

I'm thinking about working in a character named "Hassy D." too. More on that later.

& this from 10 Inch Vertical, helping me evolve the character of Jumper Ten:
The Jumper Ten character is intriguing, and could go in so many directions.

My first thought is to move away from a burly character, and go with more of a husky Jumper Ten, and I mean really husky...and I'm all in for casual nudity with this character...it just adds to the intrigue. Here's my vision of him:

Anyway, I couldn't *not* cast you after your work in this film.

Is that role reserved for Hassan Donnelly? I would like a leading role. I'm willing to do full frontal nudity.

Maybe you can both share a shirt? Like the middle 2 actors in the Russell Westbrook commercial:
