We ALL know Frosty is going to PROBABLY drop a league wide ranking for all 16 teams along with his intense deep analysis. So here's VERY light look at this seasons Big8
DC- Returning after a run at the League title lst yr is DC WIZARDS Lst season (21-1) Big8 winner, overall best record in the league. However WIZARDS fell in the title series. This season he started by selling some guards but dont be fooled he still boast the best Inside combo in the league. Druff (50k 24 yr old) & Willis (44k 25 yr old) both have had salary jumps again and Druff returns after being runner up for the League MVP award. WIZARDS WILL fill out the rest of the roster (look forward to purchases) IMO will be right there battling for the Big8 again.
Bucs- A III.7 staple now Bucs has been everything a multiple season Big8 reg season champion, to a title finalist to a 2 season 5th seed; now in the last 2 seasons have been back in the playoff picture. Lst yr sat at 14-8 and was the 2seed in Big8 losing to DC in the Big8 title game. Bucs bring back MVP candidate Tommy Lee. The aging star and future HOF looks to continue to produce and give this team a chance to win the title. He's partnered with 2 other strong guards in Spaggiari (48k) & Oztek (35k). Look for Bucs to be battling for a playoff spot.
Baker- III.7 staple Baker returns yet again looking to add some fun, spice and of course competition to this league. Baker according to him never is "promoting" but lets not be fooled every year he's a THREAT. last season finishing 3rd by 1 game at 13-9. Losing to Rival Bucs in the playoffs look for Baker to bounce back this season. Roster still has STUD MVP type player Meredith (71k PG) who only gets better and can take over a game. Compliment him with Eresma (29k Center) & Pedzik (27k guard) thats a legit big 3. Baker also is the deepest team with 8 players boasting salaries over 10k. dont be fooled Baker will be around come playoff time. (thats if he tries to be...lol)
Hoops- The last team making the Big8 playoffs Hoops went (11-11) and had a first round exit. Lets be real Hooper has the single most dangerous player in the Big8 Fred Warren (110k PG) he's an MVP type player. he pairs Warren with another strong guard in Englander (50k) as like last season depth will be the question for Hoops but look for him to attempt to stay right in the playoff hunt while navigating the vets and battling the new teams.
Titan- The Tay Titans did what every team with a losing record hopes to do.. thats find the 5 seed. With a record of 6-16 and some teams destined to relegate Titans held on to his III.7 life. he brings strong center D. Reed (87k) to anchor the paint. And has 2 guards that look to provide enough perimeter pop in Efsum (28k) & Rothmann (26k). With the big 3 teams Baker, Wiz, Bucs. Can titan find enough wins against new competition to either hold the 5 spot or find the playoffs?
Rogues- Of the new teams Rogues ranks best (278). Winner of IV.21 record of 21-1 Rogues enters the league with some bang for your buck guards young (26 & 24 respectively) Herman (53k) & May (49k). Like many new III.7 teams will Rogue have enough depth or simply enough fire power from his guards to win games!
Amarillo- Winner of IV.45 ranks (286). comes to III.7 without lots of heavy salary fire power. Best player is Fragkos 48K Center. rounds out with Olivas (27k SF) & Topac (15k) new purchase. Look for him to add players if he has the $$$. IMO its simple Amarillo needs a few more hitters on his team to find himself in the playoff picture come season end.
IL- Ranks 301 went 22-0 in IV.62 his team takes shape as an inside team led by Alsonso (55k Center) & Sodermo (32k PF). III.7 knows first hand what a team that has an inside tandem can do. (just look at DC Wizards success). the real ? will be can IL pair his inside guys with the balance and perimeter skill that DC has done oh so well in this league. If he can he will find himself right in the middle of a stron
