As for me, I would be a lot less negative if Marin had listened to some of the people's concerns when he did changes in the past (like when he erased free agency 10 seasons too late). The root of most problems, the inflated transfer market, is something that was primarily due to the userbase stabilising after the drop, but they have actively wanted inflation, they encouraged it and they can't control the economy.
You know things are bad now because nobody says 'oh but in the old days we had a $10 million transfer'. We've had many transfers over $10 million in the last couple of seasons, including a $13 million one and this happened despite all sorts of measures designed to limit the ability of users to save cash that were not present in the past: no daytrading, luxury cap, overextension tax etc.
