you got one last night, much to the chagrin of my former long time league mate from my d3 days.



Don't know how I managed to scheme that one last night. Copeland still on the shelf, did not factor Taylor into the lineup, Caraccicolo fouled out after 18 minutes and Lousteau laying more bricks than a habitat house. Yet we stayed close, Lousteau got hot in the final minutes, the last five minutes were bonkers with the lead changing hands practically on every possession. Lousteau with a little runner with four seconds left for the winner with the monsters running out of time without getting off a shot. Tonight's opening montage focuses on the one on one matchups with the emphasis on the physicality of those matchups. The jostling down on the blocks, players setting up/fighting off screens etc.

Announcer: As we near the midpoint of the campaign the battle could not be more even as discounting the results from the free pass that BALLSTARS represent for club red the ledger is completely even.


Tonight we have matchups across the board that will continue to show where each side is standing.


BC and nightmare knock heads as the visitors look to solidify their standing and the host have their eye on their sides top slot

and the same scenario plays out between storm and ice though with the roles reversed

Deronimo desires to get out of the cellar but delta has designs on becoming more a factor in the big 8 title race

the chunks visit the monsters with both teams sitting on that fence between relevance and relegation

the iguanas and bullets also battle in a matchup between teams in the same position

love gets the free lap against the stars

the borg and the tigers tussle to try and stay clear of their respective cellars

and the generals go to visit the falcons in a potential preview of relegation series to come

Sybil will seer into her crystal ball. Alfred and Lee get us ready to ball. Of course the happenings on the transfer ticker will always give us a future indicator on how things might fall and much more is on call. So settle on in as it's time again for......BB2NIGHT!

UGH !!!!!! Another game another loss just right there every game..... just need to find a way to get over the hump...

well at least your still in the cup. In fact all of you who were entering tonight still are....except me :( and I went down in the cruelest manner possible, the proverbial "Dusty finish" as I like to call it where the game is decided by a foul called as time expires. It has happened to me in the cup alone I think at least 4 times, maybe 6. Seems every 6-8 seasons a kick in the nuts like that happens to my squad.

But even though our cup run is done, I do have a invested pulling interest in next week's shenanigans. You see the old rival, the team the generals have literally played to 50 times before, your friend and mine Deronimo will visit the Raleigh Senators managed by my childhood friend Coach Thompson who I literally have know for in essence 50 years ! Proving once again, much as Marin and the designers think all of this is random, this game is sentenent and has a mind of its own. but hey hokied, at least your team will save on travel costs amiright?

People have been trying to figure me out for years. Hell I'm trying to figure me out. To appropriate a line from from Forrest Gump ( since my team did get knocked out by a team representing Alabama), maybe it's both. However it does not matter if I am a genius or a fool, I roll like I roll for my own self gratification. As for Dennis Miller, I always thought he was far too clever by half. Me? I've always sought more of a Andy Kaufman vibe.

Tonight's opening shows the coaches chewing on various refs and players asses and the accorded responses in relation to the lyric cascading into heavy duty clashes at the rim etc.

Announcer: Tonight as we hit the midpoint of the campaign much remains to be answered with one of the big questions being how the various teams still in cup contention color their choices with a jaundiced eye towards the Thursday proceedings.

The chunks and falcons however are not two teams who have to bother with any of that. But both do have a lot of issues with the others in the standings surrounding them

deronimo and the storm both get on the surface manageable assignments next week which should leave both with plenty to expend from the well for this matchup.

the tigers will have a tamable opponent in the tourney. Delta not so much

the nightmare goes on tour for what should be a manageable experience but the iguanas are stuck at home watching it like everyone else, which means they would like nothing more than to poach one from the nightmares cabinet.

Cyborgs is still in the cup, but they have a rather large hurdle to climb so their attention may well drift towards dealing with the already cup eliminated bullets

we can be assured of one thing thursday night, not all of us can make it. if for no other reason than love and BC will be playing back to back with a cup clash on thursday and with love sticking around like a hit movie held over for a return match in league play 48hrs after that. Now lets see how that affects each teams dispersal of talent against the already deposed generals and monsters.

7 berths in the "field of 64" and the two who didn't were those resigned to their fate. And I would need to take a second look but it seemed like no one was seriously headed.

all the while keeping a eye out for their super tuesday battle with ice who will busy themselves with a tip to the great white way to confront the chunks

the tigers get a twofer this week as not only are they still in the cup they get the free lap against ballstars to boot

and the bullets get to visit the desert to face a storm squad who have a great challenge awaiting them tuesday eve.
