I'm not saying there is a bug, I'm just saying someone should take a quick look at the code to double check.

Either way it won't change anything for me, I wasn't participating in any election and the guy elected in Canada is the one I want for the job, so it's not a personal vendetta or something like that, I didn't lose anything.

I was trying to make registering for an election a more "intentional" action, instead of having any random using registering themselves because they saw the (!).
In Spain we have had only one candidate for the first time ever, so it seems it didn't work here as expected.
I haven't ever seen random candidates as a problem.
