I don't agree that you need to follow some limited access plan to make a profit. Simply grab some young players and train anything for a few seasons and you will make money. I would agree that you need to follow a very defined plan to train a U21 or NT player. Which I am okay with as this is top level and totally not necessary to succeed. Actually sometimes it is a detriment.
Let's do the math:
6 potential youngsters 7-8 with 3k salary (draft or up to 10k on the market).
Level 4 trainer with 10k starting salary (+50k to acquire it).
- Let's consider only 12 weeks per season -
Fixed Cost:
50-80k in acquisitions
Cost in the first season:
[(12.10000)+(12.200)] + [(6.3000).12] = 338k
Cost in the second season:
- Manager salaries increasing by 1.2k and 6 players only 1.5k each -
[(12.11200)+(12.200)] + [(6.4500).12] = 460k
Right now you would have 6 20 year olds and 80-90 tsp because the lack of structure makes a HUGE difference in youth training. (Gym - Arena Designer + Youth Trainer LVL 6-7 + Trainer LVL 6-7).
How much is a player of this level worth on the market?
To start getting some return you need to choose the 3 best ones to continue the training.
Cost of the third season:
- Coach salary +1.2K. 3 youngsters of 8k-salary
[(12.12400) + (200.12)] + [(3.8000).12] = 439k
Cost of the fourth season:
-Coach salary + 1.2k and youth increasing to 13k-
[(12.13800) + 2400] + [(3.13000).12] = 636k
After 4 seasons you will have three 21 year old players (only) well trained having to be sold for AT LEAST 2kk added together, just to RECOVER the amount invested in their training.
..............................................
This scenario you point out exists only for clubs that have already managed to create a considerable cash to have, at least, one lvl6 coach, invest more heavily in the draft to get a young potential mvp+ via draft (with a lot of luck two) and cash on hand to buy the others on the market.
The initial cost goes up considerably, going from 1kk.
I don't want it to sound disrespectful on my part
But can you see how much it costs (time and fictitious money, within the game) to invest in training young people?
And can you notice that the result takes a long time to appear for new users of the game?
Youth training, one of the coolest parts of the game for us, the old users, ends up becoming a negative factor in attracting new users.
That's why it's only fair that it be changed, even if it displeases us, older users of the game.
