hahahahahahah SNAP!

I'm taking this season seriously!!!
I'm making $200k profit a week plus I'm getting an almost free ride in the cup so far, with another winnable game this coming week. :)

I'm more getting at that nobody else really bothered to challenge, everyone simply coasted along and just let the season play out as it was.

Perhaps his early moves were enough to convince those other coaches you've mentioned, to delay their title runs.

I think very early last season I made mention that Awesome looked Awesome, but still a heck of an achievement to canter through Divv 2 in the one season and then be sitting 5 and 1 in the ABBL.

I did coast most of last season focusing on training and with a couple of rounds left I lost a must win game against the West Indies which I assumed that I would win.

If I had of got that win I just may have rolled the dice a little

@HA - You know me mate, always one to throw a little tinder on the fire to get things going! (My forum is dead as a door nail, so got get my fix somewhere) ;-)

Gold mate you got them in

Noticed how I havent bitten at the hook that was just placed for myself by some Cunning fellow?

Want to trade mon? I have Bell Park SuperCats, I hear they are pansies :) haha

Thanks but no thanks, that said Bell Park aint they team they used to be

I agree Awesome is doing very well for his first season in the ABBL but I also think it has a lot to do with what the other ABBLers are doing. There's two tankers at the moment on his side and he currently have the 5th highest overall salaries in the league. So naturally he should be doing well. Question is not whether or not he can be competitive in my opinion, question is whether or not he can jump to the next level and compete for a trophy. A lot of ABBLers struggle with that. ;)

Absolutely 100% right (very very worthy of the plus 1)

I certainly failed to threaten for a trophy during my time in the ABBL.

Because of the collapse in price of players, the step from Div 2 to the ABBL is so much easier now that what it was 6 or 7 seasons ago when I first made the ABBL.

That said the gap between your level of "management nous" as compared to mine or that of another non elite manager, is considerable.

Always easier the first season in the ABBL with the promotion boost, but if your not building or havent got cash to splash (like the Urmummas) over a short period of time, then all that will happen is your players will gradually lose value through ageing

I'm not sadistic like u Sid, I've got a boat to cater for my fishing needs, although I do like it so don't stop its fun to read.
So yer No hook here I play pretty straight and was calling a spade a spade- - ur recent purchases = rubbish. That's why nobody has commented on them in context of potential promotion this season.

Well you could be right and you are certainly welcome to have an opinion

This part of the season Im after value for money depth so that Im not needlessly dropping games

I do think that Ive paid too much for some players but am happy with what Ive got

Kirchlengern, Donnelly & Zuabi provide me with value for money depth and quality in the SF and PF positions

Kalampoukas provides me value for money depth at SG and the jury is out on Correia Jr for value for money depth at PF.

I obviously wish Darcy was younger but him and Lie are both aussies who can hold down SG and have reasonable secondaries and neither have ridiculous salaries

Girijotas is nothing special but he only cost me a quarter of a mill and he serves a purpose at centre until I can find some one else.

If I do decide to try and promote which would be hard to do without disrupting my training program, I certainly will make some changes as the season proceeds, but at the moment the squad is doing its job as I work towards my goals which include training aussies and transforming my roster to being all aussie

You are great value to this forum and as ive stated many times before, ive paid way over the value for some of the players iv brought.

Had actually decided I was going to tank this season so when I belatedly brought players to become competitive at the start of this season, I could not avoid paying market value or above.

Without trying to belittle you too much, 3 of your top 5 players have reasonable or below game shape and despite your current ladder position, as a Manager I rate you below the Windies for "nous" and cant envisage you promoting this season.

Again no disrespect intended as you are sincerely great value on this forum and come across as being an okay bloke

Hah yep - missed him on the first round. In fact the cheeky boy even sounded out me out on that fishing trip. The challenge was on!

Managed to hook him second time round though. Looks like the spider caught himself a fly. The fisherman has become the fish. The stirrer is now stirred. The troll is now the little girl crossing the bridge. I can't think of anymore euphemisms.....anyone?

I think I'll just revert back to my screams of POISON!!! ... from now on.

Anyways back to the actual game. Anyone got a tough cup opponent this week?
