oh wow i just stumbled across this - made for some good reading! got lost in the tirade!

its a good point though that you make - I do try and always talk about 'relative numbers' - that is - saying 'SB greater than ID', which could be mean 10 > 8.

It is hard though to always talk like this and in general, people will use the skills that they have experience with as a reference point. and because a lot of wise old men in BB land have been in top leagues, they tend to talk in top league terms as a point of reference.

This is where Utopia came in - because it allowed the 'big teams' to have a new team, and trial their theories using lower cased skill levels.

I dont think a red X is necessary, but certainly don't take literal skill levels as a good comparison in any thread.

I know of atheist 2 teams that are planning on building elite teams with SB guards and will aim for B3. And I really do hope we see them there making even more of a difference.

Since all of my draftees were guards, I am reconsidering my plan for the next seasons as well, and the idea of training SB on the guards is just crazy enough to be appealing.

Oh my, you dig out a post from last week that was not even aimed at you to boast your immatriculate track record while claiming not to do just that?

Let me think about an answer...oh i got one:

HAHAHAHAHA

On a serious note: The guy i replied this to bashed a player build he clearly did not understand without offering a reason.
If someone makes bold statements without reason you can only believe that face value and for this you need credibility.
To check someones credibility in BB the track record is a good way to start with and his is just not convincing.
Been in the game for much longer than you or me and always in between fourth and third league.
If someone spends 20 sasions in low leage relegation he is either tanking, builds NT players or is just bad.
My question was aimed to verify the first two options but he did not reply.
I am not believing someone like this without reason and thats what i pointed out in an admittedly quite undiplomatic post.

So in case you are indeed the knight in white armour defending others from unjust posts i regress.

PS: Lemonshine won the relegation in S23...never missed playoffs, hm? Even though this probably was similar to my first season joining last place at the end of the season you lied.

Not to jar all the passengers in this thread too much by attempting to steer the bus back onto the road, but I picked up a Utopia player in the draft who will be quite nice in terms of measuring how he does as his SB is higher than his ID for the next several seasons. He's a classic big man, terrible guard skills (except OD of 6), and then ID 7 and SB 8. I'm scheduled to train SB first thing this season for couple of my older dudes, and so this new guy (let's call him Juan Miguel, because that's his name), will be fairly ferocious going after blocks right away as a backup center. I have a feeling he's going to be foul prone, but we shall see.
