Sir you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.
We can not make people do things but need to make it easy and beneficial for people like this to become involved.
There are always going to be people who don't care, think they know better, or just enjoy being a prick. But if we can work with some people it is better then none.

I know when I joined there was so much info I felt I just had to get doing things without reading all the forums etc. If when I joined there was a sticky thread saying I could get someone to help me with the basic of the game I would of got my head around the game a bit faster.

But like anything people need to see benefit to be involved with something. the more we make the community that encourages for people to get involved the better it will be for them and the community in total.

I am keen to hear any ideas you have to make it work. One thing that could be done is to have where we are allowed (off site forum/federation) is a thread to let people know good players for sale for training purposes. The amount of teams with no local players is a bit sad when I look through my own league. There are teams with zero Australian players.

Well the situation I was involved with - its probably not specifically the U21 managers responsibility.

It would be nice if some of Richy rich managers could be involved in some kind of player saving program. Save MVP and HoF potential players who arent being trained.

Tell the user to list their player well above market rates and the program would pick them up. I'm not sure how legit this would be.
But as u say u will just get some users who will refuse to sell the player through spite or just generally being a goose.

Going to mirror Mickyster on this one. However, I will add that it will always be a hit and miss when it comes to mentoring. I have, over the last few seasons bbmailed a few managers regarding their players when I come across a player not getting trained like the situation you mentioned, coach.

A rebuttal? I contacted (on Wednesday) a manager in my team who was new to BB but scored an 18yol HOF. I made contact staright away to see what he was thinking and if he wanted any help. He has accepted my help and I will endeavour to guide him. So, yes, sometimes we can help, sometimes we can't...

...as Mickyster said, "you can bring a horse to water but you can't make him drink."

:-)

Well there are lots of managers like this. I remember one famously prickly manager who I contacted about the training of his 19 year old. He was in division II but said he refused to cooperate with us in any way as it was his secret business and he wasn't going to give away any advantage by revealing his players stats. We already had his stats from just two weeks earlier but I guess that extra pop on a 19 year old was really going to change the balance in division II.

To tell the truth the name is just on the tip of my tongue and I just can't get it out. But it is better to keep identities secret I think for the integrity of the process.

Nice guess but he is actually the opposite, he is a total slurry and posts the stats of all of his players everywhere. About the quality of his players I suspect he would disagree.

I think what would be great is if we had a list of good managers and their training plans/needs we could let know if a player suiting their purpose comes along. Like a dating side for managers and trainees. But no chinese brides......
