lol, you should have told me what offense they will play, and I wouldn't have played 1-3-1 in that case

I am surprised how can one judge the tactics by not guessing their offense...
As for run and gun, jbmcrock is right, it can be played differently. However... our team is not good enough on other plans, unfortunately. I tried once and had enough of it after seeing the rates.
I don't mean to antagonize the Canadian community, but it's got to be told that it seems to me that (with exception of 2 people), the reaction to NT team(s) is upsetingly superficial. People change approval rating based on winning or not winning a game, most probably not even checking the game stats.
The latest game is a great example for what i say here. We had no business winning this game, we played a team vastly superior, the only chance was to take a gamble. It didn't work out, but it could have. If you bother to check the ratings, you see we are not in same league.
I definitely feel we overachieved again this season, however, people are discontent.
I started the team with great enthusiasm, and the interest from he community was minimal. I contacted players' owners in several occasions and at times didn't get an answer for weeks. Players ended up with bad game shape and nothing great seems to be coming from behind (look at U21 team).
Bottom line, people don't train, people don't really know what player pool we have, people don't scout our opposition (with very few exceptions as I said), but same people demand perpetual winning streaks.
It is a fact that we played teams that were also hosting the particular phase of the tournament and they do have an advantage that way.
Bottom line... Canada is in top 8 in the world with a team that doesn't justify it.
That's why it's puzzling to see the approval rate dropping after winning to US (vastly superior team and hosting nation) or Germany...
Not sure what the expectations were...
