Good to know, so maybe you'll have to tank your next cup game to conserve your minutes huh? ;)

im actually finding this season quite fascinating, (If not terribly frustrating for myself).

ON this side of the league, we have one full Tanker (Vipers), Mighty Oaks have 'given up', Slam ! are just cruising, and NSW havent logged on and are about to go bot.

personally, I have lost 4 games i think for less than 10 points, and a few cruel blows here n there means im probably not in the running, which leaves Fashion and Ants to take out the conference.

On the other side, 1 game seperates 2nd through to 8th. No one is obviously tanking, and you would be hard pressed to find a clear team who is going to finish top of the ladder, even though tannum are top by 2 games, tonights 2 point loss to near bot NSW certainly throws a spanner out there. Everyone on that side of the league has a positive point differential as well. which is interesting.

who is making lots of money?

Well believe it or not but I am actually making a slight profit whilst I stay in the Cup. :)
This could all change this week as I'm facing Direwolf and his Black Label Society.
But I wont be making much of a loss once it's all done either. :)

Unless someone makes a move I think I'll comfortably make the final series against which ever of the red side.
I feel like someone over there will make a big move late in the season as even the top teams have pretty manageable roster salaries at the moment.

Yeah it's crazy over on this side, could be the tightest D2 conference ever. In the first round of games I went 4-3 but every team was beatable, could have won anywhere between 2 and 7 games. I sold most of my team to free up cash and buy some Aussie trainees, got 1 but missed out on 3 others I was chasing.

Unless someone on this side starts to tank, it will be a huge kick in the balls to whoever comes 8th. Slam seems to have a history of buying up at the end of the season so he could also send someone packing.

I'll have to buy a solid team again to avoid demotion. I'm still looking for a third Aussie trainee though, making 250k a week at the moment.

Yeah, definately an open race on the red side...

@Coach, although I've given up I'll keep more than enough cash ready for relegation series if need be. Mind you, had missed the NSW going BOT. That certainly makes it interesting for me. I've never finished lower than 5th in my team's history except for the one season I chose to go 0-22 for cash and draft pick. Would rather not talk about that.

@Mr Archer...you are looking good. Just keep in mind that the Incredibly good looking one has a bank roll that would match a tanking ABBBLer! I'm serious; he has millions...so make sure you plan for his buy up to make the ABBL.

@the incredibly good looking one...sorry, but I want this to be a competitive series. :-)

That was some tough luck in our game. Based on the ratings you should have won but you got a heap of fouls called against you. I was set to CT you up until the last minute, I thought you would play trainees at PF and C so you could go all in for your cup game.

I bought some fill-in big men just for the game, they are crappy but got the job done. I was watching live and was very worried when my trainee PG fouled out and was replaced by a 9k C in average GS. I thought your PG would go off but he only made a couple of shots after that.

You should be safe to cruise at the salary floor for the rest of the season, but feel free to post in Regan's "F you game engine" thread :)

yer i didnt know how to describe ur situation, 'given up' in inverted comma's was nice and loosely defined i thought!

NSW hasnt gone bot yet. 2 more financial updates i think.. myabe 3. so yer nearly 3 weeks to go. but he hasnt logged on for over a month, so its safe to say he is gone. Dunno if there is anything more to that situation? Maybe he got banned? i dont think so, but who knows.

Fash Vics may have cash, but in reality, doesn't everyone? After Sid and TAK's 'buy-up-off' a couple of seasons ago, you would be mad to make too many splashes, and unless Fash Vics can grab HCA, then yer... why would u buy up?
... and with the game shape change now when u buy a player, I think pretty much a few weeks after the all-star break everyones team will be set.

I hope you freebird are not insinuating that im curising at salary floor - ive got a nice health $412k roster thank you, which shouldnt be causing me as much grief as im recieving this season! stupid game engine. glad the thread is appreciated though.

Hey mate. Yeah, it sucks losing a game by 1...but it happens. I was going to play trainees at PF/C as you suggested but was worried about predictability. I thought he'd come off the bench and his minutes played, plus 48 in the next game, would be perfect minutes for the week. I was right. I thought I'd get that one. My 'Exceptional' PR guy usually helps me out at home however he's currently on holidays...

@ Coach...I don't think NSW is done. I've seen too many teams go near BOT and suddenly 'return from holidays' in time. Until he is actually a BOT I won't sleep... ;-)

at least when he was still in the cup, his players had shizen game shape, not that you or I took advantage of it. ha.

well, at least we know what tactics and lineup he will play.

and yes, ive seen it before, but I just have a feeling that he won't be back.

The history might not be there but I have a feeling that he'll be doing it this season. I think I'll have to buy back a player or two to make sure I stay up.

And as for NSW...I hope you're right; will definately help me out...
