Yeah I agree, good work by Thomas. Publicly you can't say shit like that anymore. Think wilkinson was the one Sherman sledged last year when he was suspended for 4 weeks so he has had a bad run!

Is KB drunk!?

The @AFL Twitter page exploded with comments from perplexed fans after Bartlett suggested the current interchange system be scrapped and replaced with eight soccer-style substitutes.

"I'm confident the game would be better without interchange, pick your best 18 and have six to eight players on the bench to cover injury and flexibility for the coach, but once you've come off, you can't come back on," Bartlett told his SEN listeners.

"I think we'd see better kicking, I think we'd see more marking, I think we'd see more contest, I think it'd be a better game.

Whoever said Cotchin is not elite, either doesn't watch enough football, or has a very high definition of elite.

Off the top of my head, the best midfielders currently in rough order, not counting guys like Fyfe who are out for a long time.

Pendlebury
Ablett
Selwood
Cotchin
Boyd
Stanton
Thompson
Kennedy
Kerr
Watson
Hayes

I left Judd out on purpose. Adelaide could get another in there, and apologies to Swan who hasn't played much lately.

This week I give Port a big sniff. Their attack on the ball will worry the Hawks who like it easy and in space. Port need a couple of forwards to fire and Buddy to have a quiet night and they're away.

I'm a Geelong supporter for the record.

Based on current form i could make a pretty strong case for Dangerfield ahead of Kerr.

On another note who are the most inform players over the last month of footy?

Stevie J would have to be up there. He has been putting on some clinics for the past month - awesome to watch and if you haven't read Bob Murphy's article about playing on him you should.

Kerr shouldn't be near that list - can't handle a tag, he's basically a decoy midfielder for us now.

I'd stick Priddis in there though - very underrated. And Cotchin is a gun, but I'd still have him near the bottom of that last (based on current ability, I'd take the likes of Watson, Thompson, Kennedy, Hayes, over him.)

I'm slightly biased but I'd say that Dangerfield's impact on a game is so, so much more than Kerr's that there's almost no question that he should be in that list ahead of Kerr. He's probably the most important player in our team now, which is saying a lot.

'Elite' is something that is built up over multiple seasons, and is far different to 'best current midfielder'.

Elite midfielders are the top 5 or 6 guys, not the top 20. Maybe I do have too high of a definition of elite?

either doesn't watch enough football, or has a very high definition of elite.

tremell will back me up in saying 'doesn't watch enough football' definitely doesn't apply to me... :p

Haha yeah Matt is a freak, lives and breathes footy so of course he has to watch every game every weekend! I can vouch for this.

Why does Eddie Beets feel the need to run around high-fiving the crowd 5 minutes into the game? Considering he's yet to achieve anything in his career, and his club has majority under-achieved so far, you'd think he would stop with the ridiculous over the top celebrations after every goal.

High-fiving the crowd, running around like he's kicked the winning goal in a grand final, over-the-top celebrations with teammates... please. Save it for when you actually win something.

Overrated piece of shit.

Matt1986 out.
