I'm very disappointed that Supporters have to pay for second teams. AND I'm very disappointed that the community was not involved in THIS decision. It started out with the "Poll: Should BB develop the second team for Supporters feature (even if I don't agree with all the specifications stated in this post)?"

This sparked a discussion, a discussion which I have no doubt inspired the ideas for the present decision. But as usual in discussions... the people with the biggest mouths were heard the most. I would have very much liked to see another poll and/or discussion about the final plan before just sending out a newsflash "IT HAS BEEN DECIDED!" The people with big mouths were heard and the masses were ignored.

I voted yes for an idea which is now completely lost. I would have voted no for the current idea.

They weren't ignored. The BBs were planning on letting second teams be in actual countries but there were several users against it, so they went with Utopia, as it doesn't affect other countries.

I'm not against 2d teams, you know it.

Like kozlik4 said, neraly 1300 voters were against it.
You're right more (nearly 1500) were in favor. But you can't ignore that they were in favor of something described as totally different than now proposed.

Just to say that this poll, in a way or the other, is now meaningless. We absolutely have no idea if the community is in favor or not of Utopia as a 99th country.


And some of the people against it specifically said they were in favor of utopia.

More importantly, the game is not run by a referendum. BB sought user opinions, got a pretty decent response, and made their decision. Not the one I would have made, necessarily, but as long as they didn't charge for one thing and then deliver another, it's fair - if you like it, buy it; if you don't, don't. Problem solved.

Explain what advantage please, because I don't get it.

For sure it will affect BB as you said (except NT) but whats the issue? If soudainly, lot of new manager come in the game in actual nation, it would be the same but you wouldn't tell it is a problem.

I would like to point to a good suggestion here (255542.1)

Basically, Utopia would be "Rest of the world". Players would have flags from random nation, which currently doesn't participate BB. Everything would count like a normal country. Players would play for Rest of the World NT, they would count towards merchandising etc.

I'm not sure how difficult would this be to program. Basically, BBs would have to make an extra field in the database for the flag graphics. Every other code part would work as usual. Every player would be coded to xxx country for every calculation, except that the flag graphic would be replaced with yyy value from this added field.

I'm guessing draft names would be tough to add though..

If it was so easy, I would not have a problem with it. It isn't so easy. Utopia League will affect on BB (other leagues, transfer list, national teams etc.) because it will not be separated like private leagues. Second team will give advantage. You will buy advantage. That's why I don't like it.


It will have an effect on other leagues, sure. That is well within the bounds of reason. I just reject your conclusion that "Second team will give advantage" - if you believe that, of course, that's your right, but you're presenting that without justifying that argument and it does your opinion a disservice.

I already bought my 2nd team in Utopia but i think my opinion changed... after a few seasons there will be too many "utopian" players and of course... the game will be very strange to me and to some new users... a fantasy game at all...

so here is my suggestion, 2nd team in a brand new server... every one can choose a BB Nation where to play, start from season 1 a new game that is similar to BB, but a pay to play game... if the players with 2nd team are very few, then you can choose only among fewer countries...

i hope everything was clear, sorry for my english...

I can see not liking the 'Utopia' idea but why do you want only a 2nd team for only home nation/nation of residence. This I do not understand.

Where would the NBA be if players like Gasol, Duncan, Batum, Ginobli, etc. etc. never wanted to play ball outside their nation? Where would the entire world of basketball be if American Bball coaches (like Kobe Bryants dad) were not interested in running teams in other nations?

I guess you are just really invested in like NT stuff. For me the Utopia idea is a problem of delivery. The idea of a fantasy Utopia nation is kinda dumb and its obvious lots of people don't like it. Like Nuff Respect said they never did a poll about Utopia to see what people actually thought.

I honestly think if they change it to something like BB International or something like that and it stands as a league which represents an internation organization, not some fantasy country, people will be more receptive to it.
