Touché!!!
You ´re right.
Sometimes managers talk to coaches trying to influence them to set a player...Could it be my team?

getting 48 minutes is not guarantee because there are many things that could happen in a game:injuries, fouls, garbage time, freedom of the coach...
Not because the system doesn't work good

Fouls and injuries I agree with. Garbage time and freedom of coach can be eliminated by proper lineup manipulation, in my experience.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

Lineup manipulation , even if it's my brand of crazy manipulation, is part of the challenge and fun.

An other idea coming from the NBA, is that i know that lots of players are having fixed minutes. Its a possible to have the option to give a player a certain amount of minutes?

No.

As stated many times before, managing minutes will never be made that easy.

A CT? Really?
Any two will do
Any three for me
Any four will score
Any five are live

but the point is, it seems like the algorithm is heavily dependent on the comparison between the player and his sub.

what I advocate is an option to have less strong dependence, and more of a reflection of simply how tired the starter is. Something like :

I could be wrong, but isn't that how SFDC functions? If my goal is to assure a crappy backup takes at least some chunk of minutes behind a really good starter, SFDC usually takes care of this. In fact I play almost every game in SFDC mode except for games that don't affect minutes (PL, B3).

The only problem with this is if the starter has really good stamina (which several of my starters do), they still might end up playing over 40 minutes.

I fully am aware of how to get players 48 minutes in a game, assuming no injuries or fouling out.

And no where did I mention specific minute manipulation during competitive matches. Meaning, games where you want to win. Being in Cleveland, I understand how minute handling goes out the window when trying to win (a la Lebron James minute manipulation)

I'm just saying, in a game that is pointless except for training purposes, there is 0 reason not to be able to say 'Hey coach, we want to see this guy for 30 minutes'. That is exactly what happens in summer league / preseason games. That's all I was saying. I realize this will not be implemented, which I find kinda lame, but whatever.. it's not my game. And I can deal with the current system as I have been for the previous 7 seasons. I'm just sayin', ya get my dirft?

BTW, I don't equate challenge to randomness of minutes or the draft. I think the 'challenge' of this game is to balance training, winning, and economic stability. Not handling minutes. /tangent

:)

Look at my last game.At the end of the third quarter i went in garbage time and without injuries or foul troubles(3 fouls made in 36 minutes),my coach substituted him with players setted as reserves in other roles
