I know it´s easier to translate the guide of introbb.com into english than make everybody learn spanish, anyway it´s a very nice site to learn about BB.
Best regards

JMDCeltics:

I was not being sarcastic in my last note thrown your way

I found the site very helpful

Also, if you run Firefox, there is an extension called Hyperwords that will sort of translate
entire pages into something resembling English. That is, it will put up something close enough
that you can figure out the gist of what is being said.

fair enough but there's a "Newbie Help READ HERE FIRST 3" and "Important Threads 1" sticky and it pretty much cover everything in BB including "1 or 2 position training" which including time to pop. if he claims that he has read everything.... he should know it already unless he is lying....

I never said I had read everything, I said I would if that's what it would take.

I am not looking for "make me good now" or whatever. I was looking for a little help and expansion on some things, particularly training.

You say that Important Threads covers, "everything in BB including "1 or 2 position training" which including time to pop".

Okay.

I go there and see this:

Training/Team Management

Training Speed Analysis (381.1) & (78242.1)

I go to 381.1 and find in the very first post"

All Guesses assume a Level 9/10 trainer and 18/19 year old trainee.

Well, I've learned to train younger players, which is covered by the game manual, but, in my thinking anyway,
I've also learned that this thread isn't really for someone who's been playing 2 weeks and, while I could afford it barely,
is not about to go and TRY to buy a level 9/10 trainer.

A few pages later, I start running into the very informative posts:

ah come on domenico.. I can make a list with one million names of guards that are great shooters.

In fact, in any decent team any guard HAS TO be an excellent shooter. We cannot say the same about Power Forwards.

That's the reality.

2 or 3 pages later, I find something I can use

do you mean if you train rebounding and one player gets 24 mins at pf and 24 at center, is that different from 48 at center? In, that case the training would be the same.

Only thing is, the next 5-6 posts contradict the quoted one and each other.

In the meantime, I notice that my team shot about 20% FT so I decide I'll train team FT.

Next, I find a link to USA forums, which are loaded with training threads. most of which look like this:

Training Rebounding this week, 4 pops, all in Rebounding:

20 y/o American to Proficient
19 y/o American to Respectable
22 y/o American to Mediocre
21 y/o American to Average

and, again, using level 9-10 trainers.

And so on.

So, I'm trying to figure out how this relates to me and my level 2 trainer. Anyway, I notice that my team is throwing the ball away a lot and so I train Team Passing.

All I was looking for was something that went along the lines of:

"There are several ways to train, among them 1 Position, 2 Position, and even 3 Position.
Now the basic concepts behind each are (---), so if you have a player that has those traits,
you might consider training them in that manner. Etc., etc. And, by the way, make sure you NEVER do this."

A general layout no, "Day 1: do this. Day 2: do that."

An example of what I mean:

Another game I play called Cybernations has a concept wherein a player buys and sells tech. The game manual/handbook/whatever tells you you can buy as much as you want and sell 50 tech at any one time to any one player. You can also sell to up to 5 different players at the same time. So many noobies, think great and buy 250 tech at once. Well, what the
game doesn't tell you is that it isn't a good idea to ever buy more than 50 because the price keeps going up with each purchase, so what you want to do is buy 50, sell it, then buy 50 more, etc. There are 1000's of alliance in CN and on any of their forums you could find a guide to tech buying that would tell you that. It wouldn't tell you how long to sell or for how much, but it would give you that nice little hint.

And again, if that's not BB's style, so be it. I'll figure or find out eventually.

But what's getting under my skin (and the reason I've keep posting) is the attitude some of you have taken because I asked if there was such a thing. In all seriousness, does anyone consider it stupid to ask that? What if I had just plowed through and then a month or two later, found out there was a nice little guide? (Actually, did anyone notice that there is one in Spanish?)

All this could be much easier dealt with if y'all had a chat room.

Anyway, thanks for the "encouragement", and don't worry, I shan't bother you again.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I lied.

One thing I noticed on re-reading this thread. Yes, I have learned to read things more than once in my time on this planet.

Do you think that we should post data when a PG becomes worth twice as much? Study prices for some time and you will surely know the answer

Who in the hell asked anything remotely close to this???

It certainly wasn't I.

I found out that my PG was worth more, not double, but more, buy clicking on his link and reading his market value assesment everyday and then putting that into the nice little spreadsheet I made.

To hell with all you people who seem to think that because someone asks a question about a guide/manual/compendium
that they are somehow to stupid to notice anything by themselves and just want someone to hold their hand every second.

As someone posted earlier, it might be this attitude that explains the huge amount of bots in this game, the lower levels anyway. I'm the only human in my league and a cursory look around some other level VIs showed that it is not at all a rare case.

You know, I've played a fair amount of net games and I have never ran into a snottier attitude to a pretty basic question.

I have played the game I mentioned last post (Cybernations) for about 3 years and if a noob posted a similar question, I would tell him that although there aren't any guides (although they are plenty in CN), maybe I could help you. Can you be a little more specific about what you want to know? And, then when I read the second post saying he was looking specifically for help in training, even more specifically 2 and 3 position training, I would help him the best I could or refer him to SOMEONE (not a damn link that doesn't even begin to deal with noob training, level 9 trainers, sheeszh) that could.

I HAVE fallen in love with this game, and am certainly not going to quit because of this, but I certainly won't bother asking anything because I really don't enjou being treated like a retard for asking something. Especially something I would consider a pretty basic question for any game.

In closing, I certainly don't think that ALL of BB is full of asses but I have seen enough.

Have a nice day.
