On that case you are right. My mind as a rookie on the game was:Every player must be able to shoot and play D. Everything else was coming 2nd. Thank the god i was right :)
and the problem on that case it, i know nearly few people who say this post it great(ok it got 5 stars, but this opion is anony) and till now they didn't make a comment that this is just a theory and that there are plenty of different opions around.
In the german forum, a user describes the "effect" of the skills, on the positions with a lite tendency so that the reader trust more on his own experience what "plays" are important. (for those who understand it, or want to check it through Babelfish/Google ->

Another fine move would be maybe an average rating of some "experience" users, if you want to keep it short. Because i think this post above, has nothing to do in a sticky and as a fact for new users.
