IMHO, I would say yes, he will be difficult to train for IS, ID and Reb due to his height. You can train him as a PF it will just take longer than a guy who is taller.

Um, no. The best rebounders are tall guys. Wilt Chamberlin, Kareem, Dwight Howard, Marcus Camby. And Bill Russell, Buck Williams and Elvin Hayes are also considered tall by the way.

The only reason that Muresan and Bol played in the NBA (and perhaps basketball at all) was because of the general advantage height has in the game of basketball. Anybody shorter than them with the same skill set would never have made the NBA in the first place. The shorter you are, the more amazing your skill set has to be just to compete with players who can practically touch the rim without jumping.

I guess if both players had atrocious everything, the one thats taller would have a better shot at it. But by then its a coin flip.

In the buzzerbeater world, height probably makes no difference in getting the rebound. But I was responding to the post about real world rebounders being better if they're short. A ridiculous notion. In the real world, everyone has a disadvantage against taller players. Some can make up that disadvantage with incredible skills and athleticism.

the skills are absolute the y dont have relation with the height

if a giant has 13 RB and a small guy also has 13 is because the small guy somehow compensates with other things that make a good rebounder

in BB the only hard thing is to train a small guy to become a world-class rebounder,go to the TL and search the number of 6'5 or less with more then 14 in RB

and yes some of the best rebounders were small,barkley and rodman,and some huge guys were crap they just had a chance because they were big but its clear that its easier for a tall guy to become a rebounder

Yes, I understand the training limits in this game. What I don't understand is why people think Rodman and Barkley are smaill? Rodman is 6'8" with a 7'+ wing span. That's tall, even in the NBA. Barkely was listed at 6'6". But he also has an above average wing span and he was extremely strong and wide. He averaged 11.7 rebounds a game but only led the league once. Again, he's really not short, but his toughness was able to compensate in competing with the taller players. Moses Malone was a great rebounder also. Not short. Michael Jordan had arguably the best skill set and he is 6'6", yet his career rebounding average is only 6. If Michael Jordan had been 6'10", I'd bet that he would have had more rebounds.

Average height for their position can be tall for a PF or C. But it's definitely not short.
