a- double ticket prices for playoff games. Whatever base setting is, assume fans paid double, but calculation of who attends or not is same. THen away team gets basically 2/3 and home gets 4/3.

So it is in real life...

Everything else leave it as it is now...

I think a team that makes the playoffs get a certain amount of money lets say 50k... so everyone that made the playoffs is gonna make some money out of it even if they are one and done..... and then they can do a 50k for each game you win in the playoffs.... and since salaries and stuff are different in each division they can adjust the prize money accordingly so not 50k for every single league cause i dont think 50k in div4 is the same as 50k in div1

I don't think playoff teams should pay salaries. Maybe have the playoff teams pay a penalty only if they are over the league average. For example...the league average in the JBBL is $436,346 and my salaries are $764,573. So I would only have to pay $328K next week. Since I have a road playoff game tomorrow, I will make around 200K( 33% of 600K) that and TV money and merchandising minus Staff...I would probably break even. but with the current system, I will lose almost 430K.....It really seems 5th is the best place to finish. Even last season I made it to the Great 8 finals and lost and still had a crappy fan survey....So please BB's..please fix this problem..

So just shop for playoffs? This is a really bad suggestion.

I have worked out that I am ~300k worse off this week just by finishing 4th instead of 5th. And I already have the 3rd lowest team salary in my league. How is it possible to be on average 30k better off in the 11 home game next season by finishing 1 place higher is beyond me. This is ridiculous. This is daylight robbery.

I suggest in PO you pay 1/2 salary for every game you play or something of this sort. The more games you play the more salary you pay.

i agree with you theres no point of trying to make it that far and then getting penalized for it

i totally agree

the transfer deadline for playoff eligibility should be moved earlier... if u can load up the day of the last regular season game, i really dont see the effectiveness in having this current deadline
(mind u im biased because both the winners of my league the last 2 seasons loaded up before the playoffs and went on to win)

maybe not a salary cap or luxury tax, but i would like to entertain the idea of a transfer cap where teams can only transfer a certain total of salary per season... u can bank all the money u want, but u cant necessarily buy up all the players u want in 1 shot... and because of the transfer cap, u may not be able to sell off ur players in 1 shot when ur "done" with them... sure u can fire them but u lose the money u can gain back from selling

more should definitely be done to award teams that make it to the playoffs... its a tough choice to enter the playoffs when being in 5th place is better off financially
(especially if u finish 4th and know u practically have no chance at winning no thanks to a massive HCA in the current system... dont get me started about that either)

depends how complex the database is, clearly increasing TV revenue for playoff teams makes logical sense
allow playoff managers to adjust arena prices for each playoff game and adding in a bonus ball in the fan survey or something

My League has two Divisions of 8 Teams, so 16 Total Teams. I'm V League so no one can be demoted.

With 16 Teams lets say the 12 go to the Play Offs, the Top 6 in each Conference.

1 V 6, 2 V 5, 3 V 4.

1 V6 W Gets Bye. (Let's assume highest Seed wins to make this look easy).

So Bye, 2 V 3.

1 V 2

Division Championship

Everyone Played a Game on Play Off Day 1, so everyone pays Salaries. Question is, how to help the 1 V 6 Winner to keep income during the Bye.

Now the rest is Easy.

7 V 8.

Division (7 V 7) and Division (8 V 8).

So now you have One Team Eliminated (the Losing 8.) The other 8 faces the 1 Loss 7 (who ever lost the Division Match Up) to Eliminate a 2nd Team. Since we assume High Seed Wins, that means now the other 8 is out. Now we have

Division 7 V 7 (one Undefeated, one 1 Loss).

Again, everyone plays Play Off Day 1, so everyone pays Weekly Salaries. No one gets a free pass. Just ensure that an Even Number of Teams in each Conference are in Play Off, and another Even in Relegation (for Conference).

Then make it tougher. Only the 1-4 Team in each Conference goes to the Play Offs. The rest have to trudge through Relegation. Yes, your 5th Seed in an 8 Man Conference could then get Relegated.

Or say 1-3. 1 gets a Bye on Opening Game, plays the Winner of 2 V 3 in the first week. It played that week, so it pays salaries.

Only 6 Teams in a Division would get a chance to win the PO, and the reward for your Season is getting that Bye. Injuries, Game Shape and Enthusiasm would all be impacted, playing the Top Seed who is Fresh. Of course, if one Conference sends the 3 and the other Conference sends the 1 then the 3 is at a huge disadvantage as it probably used all the Enthusiasm in the 2 games already played and put the best players in for long minutes. Makes it really hard for the 3 to win it all. But then, winning it all shouldn't be easy for the lowest seed in a Play Off.

It really hurts teams that dress 3 to train... especially if they catch an injury. They walked through a weak division with 3 Studs and No Names to get the #1 or #2 Seed... then get bounced early.

The problem with making Short Play Offs (4-8 Teams Total) is that the Deeper the Play Offs, the more money to be made.
