then you had multiplicate links there to, like "need hlp", "need help", "how to train Hans Sarpei" who all go to the same i don't know if it make that much better especially in forum like help english.
There is no connection between your reply to the suggestion.
This could happen also now!

Actually, no. What CrazyEye is saying is that the forum topic list (the left-hand side menu with the links) gets more cluttered if changing the thread name creates a "soft link" in addition to the original thread link (now with modified name). One becomes two, no?

The main reason is that a change of thread's name is not "name-change by chance" but it happens due to a need - when the topic of the thread had been changed or enhanced. So in any case there will be two threads.
Only that in current system some of the content will be "reproduced", as it is part of the new enhanced subject (as well as the original one).

It must never be made available on the user level. There is no need for it and it will cause confusion amongst users.

Imagine you posted in a thread 12 hours ago, went out, came back home and logged in again and the name of the thread has changed and you have to go dig through a number of threads before you find it again.

There just doesn't seem to be any use cases for it to be implemented at all.

It is very much a "name-change by chance". That's just how many people operate.

If there is a compelling reason to change a thread title, ask a GM or a forum Mod. More often it is a GM/Mod changing it for you without asking since threads are typically named "by chance" as you put it. The current system works.

Imagine everyone discussing about something read later the thread's been changed into "Justin Bieber fans, let's discuss here!"

I wrote here (along the thread), that what can be done is to have a two links (one with the older name and one with the new name) that will point to the same thread.
Moreover, it could be defined that who will read a thread will always see only the proper link (thread's name).
In addition, the current name could be added to the header, below the "link" name.

It's still the same thing: the first group of people who have been discussing in that thread who will learn later that they are in a justin bieber thread, and the change of name has attracted the actual bieber fans! Oh, the horror!!!! The horrrorrrrorr!!!

I also wrote a long this thread that the naming is already controled by the GMs and such.
Meaning that the nature of the thread could not be altered. THe name must be relevant to the thread origional subject.
It could be changed only for enhancing the thread's topic.

There is a reason why GM's control the naming. If this option would be given to everyone, there would be naming kaos. GM's are just sitting around hands on their laps, waiting for those thread renames to fix. Get real.

You just don't get it. do you?
Who is currently defining the thread's names? The GMs? NO - the users are doing that.
The GMs may update an unarppopriate name, exactly like what they would do in case that this suggestion will be implemented.
That is their role, and it would not be changed.
In case it will not be implemented, instead of a single thread with a name change, there will be two threads with different name - the same amount of work for the GMs.

then we don't need it right? ;)

As you noticed we are very cautious with that, cause it usually leads to more confusion then makes things easier for the user. So we change inproperiate thread names, or bad names of "long term" threads like stickys. Other changes like that are very rare.

With the changes, we would had a list to go through with peple who changed their minds, make a typo and people maybe spamming this list, since they are undecided or don't see a reaction in time.

Maybe to put another though in it, the forum i know where this is possible allow it in the first 15 minutes when nobody answered in the thread yet. This is enough to correct typo, without confusing people where they had posted something or extra work for us gm(yes this time you can say it is egoistic)
