I am not R.Madrid Basket team supporter, neither GM-JuicePats supporter... ;-)))

But look at this crazy last minute in the last match of the final of the spanish basket league between R.Madrid and Tau: (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8NSwhix3sI)

Summary: 40 seconds to the end, result R.Madrid is losing by 8 points and technical foul to the Real Madrid player Alberto Herreros.

R.Madrid with the ball... make 3 points
Tau with the ball... fails 2 points
Rebound for R.Madrid... make 2 points
Tau with the ball... turnover
R.M with the ball... misses 3 point shot.... fault, 2/3 FT
Tau with the ball... turnover
Time-out asked by Tau
R.M with the ball... make 3 points
Tau, last attack... try 2 points and ball blocked... End of the match.

And this is not the longest last minute I have seen in my life...
I bet that the Tau trainer would have posted in the ACB bug forum if it would exist... ;-)

Real went on a 9-0 run in roughly 40 seconds. 9 points in 40 seconds is quite a bit different than 12 points in 17 seconds, wouldn't you think?
Also, Tau helped them out remendously with that turnover after the free throw that made it 69-67 that took 0 seconds off the clock.

I don't see the similarity between the two situations.

The "only" difference is this was real basket, and this is a basket simulation game.
It could probably be better than now, but I am already surprised about how good it can be reproducing real basket feelings.
Look at some matches of Greece during the 80's, and you will see very crazy things.
One player missing so many "easy" 3-point shots suddenly start to make really crazy 3-points from nearly everywhere...
Before the changes many people claimed for a more realistic end of the match, which was somewhat plain before. The improvement is really clear and of course it can be improved, but the level is already very high in my opinion.

No, the difference is that one team scored 9 points in 40 seconds, the other scored 12 points in 17 seconds.

But my point, and the point of this thread, is to try to understand if something like this should be happening (meaning it is considered acceptable by the BBs), or if it something that should be looked at and changed.

I understand what you say, nothing wrong on it.
The problem that we have (we = italian, spanish), is that the way we speak sounds strong to americans (not sure whether it is to all of them o just to the two or three that live in this forum... ;-))))

So they think we are complaining, when our intention is to provide some feedback to BB developers.

Well, I grew up in the States and English is actually the first language I've ever spoken , so I don' t think that communication is a problem here. I don't see how my post can be misinterpreted, since the first thing I said was that since I won the game, I wasn't complaining just for the sake of it or just because I lost.
My point is to try to understand if what happened in my game is acceptable, and if not, to give the BBs a chance to explain what happened, and if they think it is necessary, take a look at the Game Engine and try to fix it so it doesn't happen again.

Anyways, I'm sorry if my posts weren't clear, and caused some confusion as to what the point of this thread actually is. I hope I cleared it up now.

Very often, these posts are answered by the wrong people. Because they are directed to BB, and when they answer they are ussually really kind. But there are some other people that take this forum as a place for discussion, and finally most posts go off-topic. Maybe this is a bug into the bug forum... ;-)

It IS a place for discussion - not everything is automatically a bug.

The BBs are extremely busy people, and try to answer forum posts when they can. When they cannot, which is often, a GM is charged with stepping in and providing assistance where possible.

This IS right, but what you said is not always what is happening.
Just my opinion, no need to answer (off-topic, use of capital letter... we deserve to be banned, ;-)))

This is the first time i've been able to get a chance to read this thread... i'd say by the large degree of attention its getting and the examples that have been posted that in some cases it is a little too easy for the GE to string together a sequence of rapid events. I wouldn't call it a bug in that I think I understand what is happening and why... but in general I think i need to figure out a way to make it take a little longer to get shot attempts up after full court inbound plays... 2 seconds is only really reasonable for a desperation three.

Now i'd contend that there isn't anything wrong with the 4/4 performance of 3's that was listed as the first component. I would suspect that if you look at the 3 point percentage at the end of games across all games that there isn't a statistically significant effect... and if anything there is a decrease.

However the 2 seconds per event I think is probably happening more often than it should and i should look to redesign things to address this.

i guess I would ask the community whether other than the speed at which shots are taken, whether the logic the teams seem to be following in the new game engine are better and preferred as to what was happening before.

Regarding the two seconds full court play:
this is only possible if the play involves a long pass, and a quick shot.
In real life, the majority of these long passes are intercepted or gets out of bounds.
A shot like Derrick Sharp's against Zhalghiris is pretty rare,

but it seems that in BB it can happen few times during the same match...
