I, myself, am against a D-League system by the way.

Why?
In most D.I leagues and D.II leagues of big countries it is near impossible to train two players from 18y old up. You can get away with training one player as you can "hide" him in cup and scrimmage games, but you are so limited in what you can do when you are competitive that most of people regress back to D.II if they want to train.

Sending youngsters do D-league makes a lot of sense. You wouldn't have more training slots because of that and you would pay for it. You can choose not to of course. Right now the system gives no incentive to even be in D.I because:

- you can't train players efficiently
- you can't make any money so your team stagnates

So what would make someone motivate to play in D.I? Championship? You don't get any extra money because of it. You get a full arena for half a season, which normally covers your expenses you had in order to contend for a championship in first place.

I made more money and could train whatever I wanted in D.II. Usual profit was 140k - 200k per week without the cup. I think D-league would solve these problems.

EDIT: I'm sure this will give more incentive to join D.I. Think of it like some sort of award to be there. Sure you get 1M, but 1M in D.I is like a drop in the sea. Right now there is nothing to play for in D.I except glory...

No no no...

If you would like to make BB more like NBA when it comes to young players you have to work from the existing system i BB, not the NBA.

We have the draft where 18 and 19 year old players are available. Maybe... we could mix in a few older players in the draft to simulate late bloomers, foreign players and so on. Their skills could be higher than the original draftees but should NOT be as high as a 18y draftee with 3 years training (if he is 21). 21 might be the oldest a player could be drafted and he should NOT take a spot in the U21-squad, he should not be that good.

You could view all 20-23 year old players on the TL that have recieved some training during their first seasons as players from D-league

Or you could redo the whole BB-training system and really make it complicated, bigger rosters, salary-negotioations, two-waycontracts, D-league team, individual training to some degree, staff hiring for all positions, including D-league... but then it would not be BB, would it?

You just want everything instead of compromising. I'm not fond of it, but can understand why some want it.

Well basically what you are saying is "If you want to train, forget D.I".

If I have to pay for my players to develop in D-league, I'll be much less competitive than other D.I teams, so I don't "get anything" I want. I sitll have to choose between going for championship VS training.

Funny thing is I can get more money while training in D.II than in D.I. Actually I can make more money in D.II in either case (training or non training) except if I tank. Does this make any sense?

Just an idea.

I'm personally not fond of the D-League idea as it stands because we don't need *more* trained players - there are tons and tons of players being churned out as it is, and it should be a sacrifice to create a special type of player, no matter how annoying that can be. But I think looking at a D-League as a true developmental league might give another angle, so with that said, here's the idea:

1. eligibility - any player you've drafted, or players from your nationality that you've signed, with a maximum potential of all-star.
2. training - will be somewhere between half to 1/3 the speed of one position training (with a level 4 trainer). However, while on the D-League team, the player will be considered to have allstar* potential, so any draftee can theoretically be made into a useful player but not a superstar.
3. salaries will still be paid plus some sort of fee per player for the training, maybe also an additional flat fee for the additional "coach".

I think the crux of my suggestion here is that it shouldn't be used to create even more supertalented players, nor should it be even close to as effective as training players on a real roster, but it should definitely be possible to make guys who are otherwise trash into players who can legitimately belong to your team, if their starting skills are fine.
