Waugh could be Mark, Steve or Junior or perhaps even World (World War)

Bob Geldof certainly has had his fair share of Grief in life

Kazakhstan run over by slick looking Aussies.

End score: 117 - 63
Top scorer: TP (27pts)
Top rebounds: Munro (18)
Top assists: No Ulcers (8)
Interesting stat: The assist count was 31-11 in Australia's favour. Surprisingly, even though Australia led the board comfortably 57-44, Kazakhstan led the O-boards 16-14.

The intro music to the Kazakhstans u21 NT team as they ran out on to the court said it all with NOFXs "The Decline" blasting through the speakers to pump up its fans for what we were all hoping would be an entertaining match. It obviously worked with home fans having an impact in the first qtr. The game started with a very up and down style game, with some great looks from both teams. Kazakhstans decline came hard and fast though as they failed to replicate their shooting touch from the first qtr, going from 19 to 16 to 11 pts, before recapturing some touch in the final stages. The game hit an all time low as Kazakhstans PF airballed a layup with 2 mins to go in the 3rd, and Australia emptied its bench onto the court like an 8 yr old school boy emptying his shaving filled pencil case onto his school desk looking for his sharpener.

MVP votes:
With TP snubbed last week in what was an MVP performance, he made a statement tonight with 27 points at 65% shooting to go with 7 assists, 4 boards and 2 steals. TPs +52 highlights his influence on the court, highlighting the teams dominance whenever he steps on the court. He makes others around him better.

3 votes- TP (27pts, 7ass, 4 reb, 2 stls)
2 votes- Munro (24pts, 18 boards, 2 ass, 2 blks, 60% fg, 15.0 rating)
1 vote- No Ulcers (16pts, 8 ass, 6 rebs)

The Aussies now face a couple of scrimmages before facing 91st ranked Lubnan.

Good write up and can I make a suggestion.

do the MVP voting as a poll. That is after every game create a new thread with a link to the box score and get the community to vote. Link to the voting poll from this thread.

Maybe u could have two awards - MVP as u r doing now and then the 'community' award.

I do like the idea, coach. Can i suggest that instead of a poll, the community simply posts in here with their 3,2,1 votes.

e.g.

Game________
3 votes__________
2 votes____________
1 vote_____________

That way, if you have the 3 votes the same as me, but have different 2 and 1 votes, you can distinguish them. If you have a poll you can really only vote for the 3 votes. At seasons end i will tally and announce community award.

Markus Barratt has been added to the team. He steps in as the best shooter in the team, and has overcome the game shape issues that has held him out since the start of the season. Ive added him tonight because id like him to play in the scrimmage vs the Philippines on Monday. Here is a bit more about our newest member:

Markus Barratt
aka: Mars Bar
NBA resemblance: Manu Ginobili
NBL resemblance: Kevin Lisch

Markus comes in to the u21 team as a big time shooter, and a game winner. Late in the shot clock, he is the player that you want to have the ball in his hands. He can create his own shot both inside and out, and deserves respect from the land of plenty. Infact, he is a defensive problem, step outside on him, and he will zip around you. Double team? Maybe, but his vision is too good and he becomes a passer to the man you should've been aware of but left alone. And leave him free? Well, your leaving the fate of the game in the wrong oppositions hands. This is the guy the coach told you to man up on, and just hope you've done enough to keep him off his game.
