IMO it is taking too much of a risk to try and force 3 guys to get 48 mins a week.
Most weeks I get 3 to get 48 mins but sometimes it just does nto work out. And you need to be prepared to just to 1 position training if need be or have a trainee who you are happy to miss some mins.

Generally my 3rd guys is a younger lower potenital guy or a older guy I am just giving some finishing touches to. Tryint to get 4 players 48mins a week will make it hard to win as often and also be difficult for a new person to training to manage.

So who is your 3rd trainee? How many times has he got 48mins this season?

Nolan is mine. He has had 48mins training every week this season, apart from his recent injury break.

I agree that you need a third trainee, who you are willing to give less minutes to if necessary. But you should try to give all 3 48 training minutes per week, because, why not?

Agreed, it's kind of like disadvantaging yourself to prevent a possible, yet unlikely, disadvantage. Your conceeding that you will just be disadvantaged

This is my position
Only been 2 times people did not get 48 mins all season. And it was 2 different guys. Imo by not naming 2 guys in the training position you can lose heaps of mins. Guy gets injured early. Most the time you get 48 for 3 guys but sometimes you don't.

Looking at your trainees mins I can't see one week where all 3 of your trainees got 48mins single position using this strategy? Can you explain how it's been working for your trainees?

To get 48mins for all 3 in single position, you'd have to fluke them getting the same mins in 2 consecutive games.

yer this is all true, i think focusing on 2 trainee's is as much of a psychological thing as it is practical.

Having only 2 trainee's makes it much more clearer about what your goals are for each individual player, and provide less distraction for getting them minutes or training something that goes against your training plan.

What I prefer to do, is have 2 younger trainee's that I can maximize the 48 mins against, and then I have an older trainee whom gets the supplimental minutes.
So at the moment i have Nash and Bellard and im smashing ID and SB. but ill throw in 1n1 for forwards every now again. My third trainee is Phil who is 25, but has MVP potential (and he was a SF prospect) - so he gets the minutes - but only sometimes because im not willing to sacrifice my league position just so that he gets minutes at C.

so yer, sometimes i have 3 trainee's, sometimes not. Bellard is not good enough at the moment to play in league games, and Nash only become good enough halfway through the season, so its made it difficult, especially because I was also in the cup

So i think having 3 trainee's is possible, but it depends on the state of your trainee's, and your league expectations. But for, Div II with 3 x 18 or 19 year olds who are brand new trainee's - your league and cup success is extremely limited.

Well you are missing the fact I did 2 position training a lot this season by design. You disagree. That you are allowed to do. But trying to get a new manager to training to attempt to find and train 3 decent trainees is not a good idea to me.

Na, it's pretty easy.

Game 1: First trainee plays 48
Game 2: Second trainee plays 48
Game 3: Third trainee plays 48. If one of the first two missed out on a fair chunk of minutes, switch to dual position training (rebounding/one on one/JS) and play that trainee in a training spot. If the third trainee misses out on minutes in the scrim, shrug your shoulders and move on.

Exactly. Easy. And yes, that's how I'd be getting trainers to train players, because it works. .

Mickyster, certainly didn't miss that you've done some 2 position training, I'm asking you to show evidence that your method works for 48mins for 3 trainees, which you claimed it has all season except twice.. after all, we are recommending to this new trainer to one position train ;)

You've done some passing training and OD with Rudd and peachey, who was your third trainee and how many mins did he get in single position?
