In the Help/English forum there is a thread, "Worst draft ever? =)" One of the ideas that turned up there was that the delay in posting the draft candidates deleteriously affects someone who wants to tank. There's an idea for "Anti-tank artillery" without even screwing around with arenas or anything else, and it doesn't harm anyone playing the game legit.

We could imagine that instead of the current 14 weeks exemption that exists on the salary floor, a gradually smaller exemption could exist, but over 28 weeks or whatever.

I'm not really a fan of encouraging newcomers to tank for 14 weeks currently, in micro or macronations. If that was possible, salary floor exemption and arena protection could be less and less active.

Hey, easy! My homegrown Utopia Team still isn't above the salary floor! I think they'll pass it this off-season, hopefully. It will definitely be a moment of pride.

Just wanted to resurrect this thread a bit more.

specifically:

#3 bigger loss of arena income if a team is losing a lot, and/or by a lot

This season so far ive averaged a gate receipt of $330k per home game.
The team in my league has averaged $326k for home game.

we both have similar sized arena's (im talking a difference here of hundreds, not thousands)
From a seasons intake perspective, (we both have home games next round so its comparable) his team has received $40k less over the season so far compared to me.

He was basically receiving a maximum attendance up until the 25th of nov - ie: the 12th game of the season. It wasn't until the 14th game of the season that he had a small drop in attendance, and then finally in the 16th game of the season, fans stopped showing up. This is despite losing all his TV games, and his rivalry games and in fact, ALL games so far in that season except for ONE.

Compare that to me.
After winning both my TV games, losing my first rivalrly game, but having a league record of 9-6 (9 wins, 6 losses), 30% of my fans decide to not turn up to the next game. SERIOUSLY?!?!?!?!?!

The difference is - tanking team promoted last season - Its a strategic tanking model seen by the promoters/demoters. Tank, get demoted, win, promote, tank, demote. Why spend money on a fully fledged lineup when you can tank, have a salary floor lineup and still get the same attendance as the guy who is going to finish 2nd or 3rd in the league?

Cause yer that makes REAL effen sense doesn't it.

anyways. this model of tanking is directly related to the attendance. FIX THIS and you will fix this type of tanking.
