So in other words - no chance for promotion. Ok, guess I'll have to make an extra effort to win the Playoffs!

The teams demoting are 16x6=96. Therefore since there are 79 DIV, the 79 finals winners will go up and another 17 teams will promote based on where they finished and record. In practice you must have one of the 17 highest record/PD combination for all the conference winners who didn't win the finals.

Actually there are 80 leagues IV right now. Nevertheless I hope I won't promote with a 20-2 record, unless my team wins the championship. But thats rather unlikely given the opponents rosters and some experiences from regular season.

Did you finish first in your conference? The tiebreakers for the remaining 16 (+any bot who finished 5th or better in D3 +any bot from D1 and D2, because these ones will have to be replaced) spots is like this:
1. Best record among division winners
2. Best PD among division winners
3. Best record among division runner-ups
4. Best PD among division runner-ups

So if you won the division with a 20-2 record and you have one of the best 20-30 records (for division winners) in D4 you have a very good chance of going up (considering that some conference winner with a better record will probably win the playoffs).

For example looking at your league, if the 22-0 wins the playoffs and promotes directly, then he won't take one of the 16 remaining spots.

Hmm, crap, just what I tried to avoid. I'm pretty sure, Etonic will win the POs. I guess my only chance to stop him, is to give the finals spot to Pittsburgh because his roster has a better chance for a finals upset against Etonic.
Anyway, thanks for the clarification

Should be my final. Some bad strategy sunk me against Pittsburgh

Considering that his salaries are that much higher than mine I could throw that conference final. But it wouldn't be the first time that somebody is able to pull off an upset against Pittsburgh. I have a little history for that
And your close game is for me even more encouraging. With Crunch Time you might have won that game.

No doubt.

I beat him twice in the regular season but I tried to out think myself. Ran a different offense and did not GDP.

And we did it again

Yeah, missing gdp was key since he doesn't care about tactics very much ...
