The total increase in the starting seats costs a total of $274,600 to build. Anyone who built these seats last season or even early this season likely will make more money from having those additional seats than they would make from waiting until the all-star break to get these seats for free.
Assuming you are getting the pricing right it normally takes more than a season to get your money back from the increasing gate receipts. Everyone who had a look into this came to the same conclusion. Even if you're selling out categories at max pricing you would still need almost one season.

I didn't realise this new policy would start after the all star break, I said 1 season back for the reasons above. I suppose that would make it 1 season counting from when the change is implemented. These guys are nearly guaranteed not to have paid back their investment in seats that the new managers will get for free.

In general I can't understand how you can possibly penalise someone who joins right before the ASG and someone who joins right after, by effectively granting the second team a lot more money than the first (300k+200k+275k for the second, 300k+200k for the first). If you decide you do this change you should just do it immediately and totally or partially refund those who have built the same seats in the last season or so.

Alternatively they could progressively increase the initial arena size in several steps over the course of a season, rather than in one go. They'd still hit their final target, but at least they would not substantially penalise anyone for joining a day too early.
