Yes, I know the rules :)

I've long been a proponent of 0-2 records not carrying over to the consolation tournament. Unless you have a really good shot at making worlds, it's actually better NOT to qualify for second chance. So they are making intentional losses before then the smart plan. Flawed system and not very sporting. (reminds of the Olympic badminton match where both teams were intentionally missing serves and shots in order to lose the game and have an easier next match)

Yeah that's what I did last season (after being screwed in my first consolation tournament ^^), you've got to use the system to your advantage sometime...

On the chat right now if anybody's interested.
Mexico and Brasil are out, and the winner of our game will face Germany next monday.
Chile is winning against Macedonia right now (it's half time over there and there are 23points ahead with greater effort), that's not the greatest news for us but we'll see.
Slovenia got the focus wrong and put less enth than us into the game, we should be able to win that one.

The winner of Chile - Makedonia will face Portugal, so an equally hard second round than us/Slovenia.

+16 at the end of the 1st quarter, feels like I wasted enth but better safe than sorry I guess

+13 at half time, Chile still comfortably ahead at the end of 3rd quarter

Easy win in the end. Chile won as well, so we need to beat Germany next week, we'll see how it goes...

Yeah. I havent done any scouting (maybe will find time over the weekend but not sure), but if you think they are clearly stronger then just risk with full GDP and look for mismatches imho. Lets see how GS update goes

They are not clearly superior, I'd say we are even in terms of roster, maybe we have a tiny edge on the starters but they seem to have a bit more depth. The thing is they have the home court advantage (which we can't have until the end of the competition no matter what happens - we're the worst seeded team remaining) and supposedly better enth, I think it will be close and come done to details such as GS.
I must say ours has been great so far, I'm pleasantly surprised after the fiasco 2 seasons ago, but there's always one starter with poor GS (Cockayne these days...), that's a bit frustrating to not be able to play the best "theoretical" team.

Game against Germany underway. A bit surprised with their team effort (too cocky? we'll see...!), but they are ahead @HT.
First quarter was really bad, -10 in the end, and 4 fools for Cockayne! (starting C). 2nd quarter marginally better, we came back to -4 but missed a few opportunities in the last minute and back to -7. Could have been worse I suppose...! Hopefully Pietschmann (backup PF/C) can step up to replace Cockayne.

After the game, tune up to watch Chile game against Portugal and keep your fingers crossed!

Edit: horrendous third quarter, we're at -18, Cockayne is out and we're out-rebounded badly. I really don't like our chances now

-25 with 6mins left, we're officially out, America's championship in Chile next season

Well, Americas in Chile it is!

Out of curiosity? How does the depth chart look? I have been out of touch for a while and suddenly see half of people that were on my lists (tried to organize trianing for 18 & 19yo) in the NT :d

well yeah I didn't expect a tie in the final 16 ;) Combined with a wrong GDP (I specifically didn't to use a fast offense because I used it a lot in the past, and our guard GS could have indicated outside offense...), but you crushed us big time, to be honest I didn't expected such a blowout, even at home and with 7-8 enth against 14-15.
Good luck for the rest of the playoffs!
