Thanks. It is rare to find teams with higher SB. Interesting you also have Ferkaluk who is a lower SB, so we can compare and see how your other players have higher SB average, about 1~1.5 more average blocks a game.

Things we could look at in detail with your team~

break down by opponent team IS rating (too hard to get specific DR/IS skills of opponent players, so must use relative team ratings) and flow ratings, then by position how well the high SB vs. low SB holds back opponent scoring per position, overall scoring, shot selection, and just shooting % of opponent.

1 block a game is not enough IMO to justify the massive raise in salary that 15 SB vs. 8 SB causes, BUT we might see some impacts to shooting %, shot selection and so forth of opponent to justify the higher SBs.

What I am looking for is high SB, low ID.

Also it is important to know the OD of these players. If all 3 are about the same OD, then I do not need to know, but if one or another has much higher OD, then obviously this is a big factor in why he may do better on defence. OD may even lead to more blocks (because it leads to shots being pressured/covered vs. completely open/assisted). Maybe not the OD of the C per se, but the team OD ratings etc.

If we go to the federation
http://www.buzzerbeater.com/community/fedoverview.aspx?fedid=18083

There should be some links for tools from breaking down game and shots by shot type, so we can see specifically performance of SB player vs. putbacks, inside shots, layups etc. vs. 3 pointers or jumpshots etc.....and we can see if your bigs are blocking any shots, deflecting or harrying guards etc.

BTW, what is the SB of the rest of your team? Guards, SFs etc? I have high SB guards/SFs (relative to the norm) so I see them rotating to block shots and/or blocking shots of their own opponent...I think this also plays a factor perhaps in how important or maybe how often the bigs would be rotating or getting SBs against guards...

Here are OD skills of my bigs:
Ferkaluk : respectable
Ognjenovic : atrocious
Ben Ari : pitiful

and there are my other players
Kyle : OD strong, ID-RB sensational, SB prominent
Guards
Bin Burhan : ID proficient, SB mediocre
Virman : ID prominent, SB pitiful

*cough*
Yeah, you really should look into that, it's never been looked at what sort of effect SB may have on a play-by-play rather than boxscore basis....

Like, say, last week in this same Forum.. (245985.84)

a little bit off topic...

What if we remove the ability of an owner to bid on his own player so we can drive towards a more accurate transfer price list estimate?

I often experience starting to bid on a player at 1$ (or 1000) wait for 2 days only to find myself bidding against the owner himself at the player deadline. It is a price manipulation of sorts but I quickly lose my enthusiasm when i see the name of the owner bidding as well. Its like did i wake up for this s__t!?! I mean there is a minimum price that you are suppose to be happy parting with the player, but some managers like to get the most bang for their buck so they drive prices up by repeated bidding on their own player. I don't mind people posting overpriced players at least they don't waste my time getting up to purchase the player.

Regardless how often this happens, its lame and should be forbidden.

Well it's some sort of reserved price, but the owner doesn't set it at beginning of auction (which would make it more fair) like E-bay. If the player doesn't reach the price owner wants, he outbids others until the player gets sold for whatever sum owner wants, or gets back to his original owner.

When it happened to me the first time, I was furious too. But after some thinking it makes some sense. I remember when I put two solid players on TL; they were sold for nickel and a dime just because online there wasn't anyone interested to pick them up except for daytraders, who happily resold them two weeks later. If I knew about this rule then, I would surely put a few bids on my players myself.

Btw, this is reserve price definition by Ebay:

A reserve price is a hidden minimum price—essentially, the lowest price you're willing to accept for your item. If the listing ends without any bids that meet the reserve price, you aren't required to sell the item.

Its pretty much a prank, when you do this.

If you want a certain amount, just put in the amount you are willing to sell for. Don't make up some weird theories how this works like eBays reserve price. lol

Some people get up in the middle of the night just to bid on players, imagine how funny and fair might be for those lads and lassies to get bitchslapped like that.

Nice prank lol.

Well it works like reserve price from Ebay; only on Ebay they tell you "you didn't reach reserved price yet", so it makes it more fair.

I'd feel sorry for those who are willing to wake up in the middle of the night only to bid on a player on browser-based game...only I'm not for the reasons stated below:

Do you know how to avoid waking up in the middle of the night? I'll just borrow your own words:

If you want a certain amount, just put in the amount you are willing to sell for.

So if you want to buy a player for certain amount, just put in the amount you are willing to buy for and you don't have to set the alarm. RIght? Because if you get up in the middle of the night, that's only because you want to save money by buying the player under the price. Just like the owner who wants to sell the player above the price. They are all same to me.
