it is hard & it really hurts but i gotta do it 4 the long term good

was going no where as i was so 1/2 a season of tanking & all will be good

warning massive rant coming (not directed against axis123 who is a nice guy & i hope my buddy but against the game engine)

ive been playing this game since season 10 & really loved it but i am starting to think it is a bad game & just stupid & why am i wasting my time

no offence axis123 you are a great person & i like u a lot

but if you can win using your tactics then this game is stupid & it is clear that u can



u can have totally nothing

spend your money on some 33 year old guys - none even that expensive in your case & a bunch of 2k backups

flog all your guys 100+ minutes down to mediocre & average gs

then just train gs they all magically jump up 2 levels so everyone is strong or respectable

then flog them all 100+ minutes again & win all 3 games



u can say i could do it just sell all my players buy randoms 33 year olds train gs & win

i guess i could but it isnt realistic & it isnt fun 4 me

again im not having a go at u at all

u & naker have found how the game is stupidly broken & doesnt work & u use that to win & that is a totally fair way 2 play it is totally withing the rules & u have done not anything wrong & i am pissed but not at u

but it is total bull that the game allows it

can u imaging the nets now they have their russian owner just buying 5 x 33 year olds & some cripples & winning the nba its totally unrealistic

i lose lots of matches it happens

but 2 think i could sell my whole roster buy randoms worth 1/2 as much flog them all 100+ mins each week win every game & never even have 2 worry about training mins weekly mins etc because training gs totally negates all that abuse i just wouldnt enjoy it

like i said nothing at all against u & naker i like u both

i looked @ your team thursday & u had not a hope 2 beat me, not 1/1000000, then 2 days later u can beat everyone easily play 100+ mins & it just doesnt matter

the system works

i just think the system stinks & it ruins my enjoyment of the whole game, it is supposed 2 be a basketball simulation, i dont know what this model is simulating but it isnt any basketball league i know

and I thought I need to see a physiologists...

like it or not this game is all about economics, either learn to enjoy it or scram!

even though the game engine is questionable at times, the game is pretty polished compared to other simulation games.

Well i find it all right. Consider a basketball player reaching his "maturity" at 28. The 30-31 y.o. ballers are at their top. Therefore Axis has 5 players who are at the top of their carreer. He doesn't need to train them, though he must have a pretty good massage doc who can keep them in shape.

However a player will lose value everyday when being 30 y.o. Meaning you'll lose money in the long run. He can bring you some wins now, but there is nothing you can do with him in 1-2 years.

I find it totally realistic: didn't the Celtics win that way, buying a bunch of 30+ well rounded dogs to win the NBA championship? Then now they look pretty much fucked up, but they'll be back in a few years. Same goes for the Mavs and their aging team.

Just keep training your boys and your time will come. You need to feel it and splash money at the right moment. That's how you win.

What are you, six years old? You sound like a spoiled little kid that just had his favourite toy taken away from him.

So, what I can gather from your space cadet like ramblings, is that the game is bad because someone found a way to beat you at it, by doing something different to you?

Maybe, just maybe (and please correct me if I'm wrong), but just maybe, in all of their infinite wisdom, the developers decided to create a game that has more than one way of being successful? I don't know why they would do something crazy like that, I can only imagine it was stupidity on their behalf that they would even consider allowing more than one strategy for success. Absolute craziness.

I'm not sure why you think training should be the only strategy for success? Do you have any legitimate reasons as to why you shouldn't be able to buy a bunch of old guys and train game shape? Or are you just sulking because you lost?

No one has ever said this game is perfectly realistic, but since you bring the realism aspect up, didn't the Celtics win a Championship with an old roster that played 100+ minutes per week? Oh, and speaking of 'realism', why should playing guys 100 minutes a week even affect their performance? Don't NBA players play 100+ minutes per week with no adverse affects on their performance the following week?

The game is not broken; you are broken (read: ignorant) for thinking there should only be one strategy for success. No one rants on you for beating them by training players and managing your minutes, so why should you rant on guys that beat you by buying older players and training game shape? Unless you think your way should be the only way of playing?

I doubt it you are a very different sort of person Datz. There there was a real conflict between two good people who were both looking after the direct interests of their teams even though it became very heated Koop and I still believed it would all work out in the end. This is quite different. Some people are just very aggressive and rude all the time.

Fishy - tanking does not agree with you, it has only been a few games so stop it. If not you need to go into a zen-like trance and just accept that everything will be horrible for the rest of the season but be ready for the relegation series.
