My opinion on this topic is: there is a hidden skill for training!

For almost 15 seasons I'm seeing all kind of players, skill sets and training schedules. And there are some players which you can't get a hold on. They train with 23/24 years like they are 18 y/o. Have 12+ ups per season and their managers don't use trainers higher than level 5.
On the other side there is the complete opposite. Some players train slower than they should. Your Carlsson is most likely one of them -.-

Today I made a quick scouting of the swedish player pool. Just to clean up my own NT list.
If I take only the player from 18-25 years which are in the NT, on their way to the NT or possible prospects, we are down to appr. 25-30 players. That's a solid number and if they turn out to be good or strong players, it's a great result. And it doesn't matter if the player reaches the NT with 25 or 28. The most important part is that he gets training and will be a help for the NT.

Next week I will make an overview of the players like last season. So everyone of you gets a picture of the current progress.

Obvious that Superstar potential no longer is enough for the national team as my own SF seems to have hit his cap now and despite being having a very good balance in his skills he is not more than a decent candidate as backup player at SF. Had Wedling been trained in any other position would his chances of playing time probably been even more limited. With 11 weeks in a row without a pop will he likely get no more training next season even if I of course would like to improve our national team further. The price simply is starting to get too high in sacrificing more training.

He is likely to have a good replacement though in my training rotation that at least can contribute to U21 as I am drafting as second team. I should at least be able to draft a 5-3 player and that certainly won't help our national team in the future but hopefully can I at least get an 18-year old with Superstar potential.

Ive never even considered this but it does make alot of sense. Are there any official quotes that support this or at least that it might be an option?
Ive also been training a long time and some players just doesnt seem to pop as fast as others.. age and height and potential aside i mean.

Like ol Neil Young would say it: Innarestin!

I asked Marin about the hidden skill "training speed". He said it is a possible hidden skill, but we have to find out if it's actually one. I know, a big help... But by tracking the training of over 400 players over the last 15 seasons, there are clear candidates which have this hidden skill. There is no other explanation which would make sense.
If a player trains with a lv 5 coach faster than another one who has a lv 7 and is 2 years younger (same training, same minutes, almost same height) than there has to be such a skill.
And than there is the negative example. Some players are soo slow. Faultier, a former U21 coach of Germany, has such a player. His trainee trains almost 1 week slower than the "normal" one.

Even MVPs hit a wall which stops them from reaching an international level. Birgersson gets training, but it's slowing down drastcally because he is near his cap With a pot 10 he would be so much better.

So much fun with these more novel approaches to scrimmages! Ilkka has gone from a more AI-like approach to training (...) to mimicking KG. My hope is that he will get some leadership from the elder statesmen and be able to grow into his Tower-like stature with a zen-like focus (aka the Swedish Timmy)

So this week - lead his team to promotion, won the league MVP and gained his first senior cap:

Yesterday we played against Germany and their U25 team. Both teams played RnG and m2m and it was more like an All Star game
After 48 minutes we had a tie at 131:131. Unfortunately only seconds before the end of the regular time, Birgersson was injured. And with this almost everything was up to Säfen.
Before the game I had the hope that Säfen and Birgersson will score like there is no tomorrow. And they did. Carlsson was an unsure factor. I hoped that he could perform well as a SF, but wasn't sure. Dehllund was a surprise. His skills aren't that high yet and still he grabbed one rebound after another. And Ismar did what he should do. Almost no shots, but if he shoot the ball than he scored.

Most of the player are still very young. They are 23 or 24 years old. Birgersson and Gijon are the oldest ones for the next generation. Westerlund is forcing his way up and there are some other interresting prospects. The current development is on the right way. And in a couple of seasons we should have an even better team than the golden generation around Sandbom, Akersten, Martinsson and Sommarborg.

Better than Thord? What are you smoking? :?

Gaudenty Smól finally started his OD-training a couple of weeks ago and have started popping, hopefully he'll be able to make a bid for a spot on the team as well in the future :)

I know that it will be very hard to achieve, but we have to try...

Tomorrow is our first game for this season.
We will play at home and our opponent is Ireland. The line up is set and the current team will be the main force for this season. It's the same team like last season.
Possible back ups for this season are almost not existent. So we will have to deal with all upcoming games with this group of players.
