I never said that the idea was stupid. I just said that since the results aren't an issue, lack of experience isn't one too. I just want to ask you a question. You worse results, worse rankings. It will lead to hard groups in the future. DO you think that you will be able to overcome it and qualify in a tougher group?

do you think, looking at the kind off group we got in now, it can get any worse?

Yes. If we go lower in the rankings, it will get worse

sorry, let me rephrase my question, i ment something differently and it is my fault for not making this clear. We are currently 49 in the world ranking, you think we can do a lot more worse? I dont think so, secondly yes you are right, we might end up in a more difficult group, but if my idea works, which we dont know off course, our team will be better too, and I think good enough to make the difference with teams that we now cant beat... Than we can climb the world rankings and with the better players we have than we will stand a better chance.

Ps having the nr 7 and 9 from the world rankings in the same group wont happen quickly again. I also believe that Finland is alot better than their current position suggests...

It's a risk to take. But there are a lot of managers who have 18 year old players. What will be the criteria to choose 10 18-year old players. And what about the managers that trained their players since their 18 and now that their are 21, they will not be selected because of the 18 year old?
Don't think that I'm criticizing your idea. I'm just trying tom know if you have everything thought.

I see Bomby said it hadn't worked, Well, that's his opinion. We might want to be higher rated than we are but we've still created some good players over the past four seasons.

I did say that, and possibly I spoke a little hastily. What I should have said would be more like "It hasn't worked as well as we hoped/needed it to work". I apologize for that and meant no disrespect for the coaches we've had, I think you have all done a superior job with what you've had available to you.

We've got some excellent players in the English system, and I would guess (I admit I haven't followed it recently) that we actually have a few very good youngsters as well. Much of the credit for what we do have goes to the NT coaches and the largely thankless work they do.

Again I do apologize if anyone felt offended. I'll leave this conversation for now as I'm not in the right frame of mind to express my thoughts clearly.

I agree with you guys, off course we have some decent players in both the NT and U21 team. Secondly I dont think anyone else would have done a much better job with the tools available to the U21 teams as has been done over the last few seasons. However, look at the slow decline off the U21 team and the positive direction the NT is going. We had 2 more losses from qualifying spot, however it could have been alot closer too, all that follow the NT know that...

Do me a favour elmacca and bomby, have a search on the TS market and tell me how many english players you would really consider buying, and training? I have only 2 on my bookmarks. I have been looking for a over a whole season now for an english trainee, and either they are way over priced and never sell or they are simply not good enough.

Off course some will be trained by their coaches, but I have a feeling, this isnt done most off the time and we are loosing out quite alot. Than please have a look at all the draftees in the top division and all the 2nd divisions and look how many all star players with a salary higher off 4000 you see. The same goes for last season. When I did this research I could cry seriously. I know we cant change this, but these are the facts. It is noones fault, noones lack off dedication, just parts off the game we cant control and that we have to accept.

well, 3, the good news is I'm bidding on one, heroics is on another and loosers from anfield on the third, so that's a potential starting SF, PF and C right there ;-)

Joachim Toranzos (10814380) also has good potential, if you are training ID first ;-)

Seriously, he's the only other one I found in the 3800-4399 bracket with superstar+ potential.

It's a very thin crop, I think I had about 19 peren allstar and 4k+

However, that could well be because coaches are a lot more aware of which players are worth keeping and not putting the best trainees on the TL. We really need elboss to tell us how many old 18yrperen+ English players with 4s.400 salary there are. Or 7k+ 19yr olds with superstar+

lol going to be fun with all off us english betting on these 4 english players :) that is why i normally steer clear to more cheaper foreign import... However now I am running for the U21 team I cant really do that, can I??
