at least when he was still in the cup, his players had shizen game shape, not that you or I took advantage of it. ha.

well, at least we know what tactics and lineup he will play.

and yes, ive seen it before, but I just have a feeling that he won't be back.

Slam seems to have a history of buying up at the end of the season so he could also send someone packing.

Oh does he now?

Season 24 - no
Season 23 - Yep
Season 22 - Nope (well he did buy up, but he finished 5th and bought up during playoffs)
Season 21 - Nope
Season 20 - gave up...as in.. me... searching..

so where is this information you hav about Mr Slammy buying up at the end of seasons? hmmm hmm hmmm?

The history might not be there but I have a feeling that he'll be doing it this season. I think I'll have to buy back a player or two to make sure I stay up.

And as for NSW...I hope you're right; will definately help me out...

well - he has 5 players on his roster at the moment. I think anything that he does for the rest of the season will be considered making a move!

This is true...

...If NSW does go BOT then he'd be mad not to buy up enough to make sure he didn't relegate or, even better, not put himself in a relegation series at all...

In terms of my progress this season, Slam!'s moves matter to me. I have a 3 game advantage over him and, assuming NSW goes BOT, I will stay above him. The Vipers have secured 8th spot. Therefore, if NSW goes BOT I simply need to make sure that the 3-game advantage I have over Slam! isn't bridged. As soon as Slam ! makes a move purchases wise I will have to counter shortly afterwards to ensure that I avoid a relegation battle...

...I will also say this now. If all goes as planned and I remain in II this season, next season will see me drop, like the Vipers, like a lead ball, back to III. I have, like others, become disillusioned with my team's progress. I am in the hunt for stud trainees and will go back to training great players. This time I will not settle for U21 players but ride them all the way to NT selection and hopefully the ABBL...

Why?

Just sit n wait in Div II, pocket $100k+ a week whilst finishing 5th or 6th for a few seasons. enjoy the company of full time players, play games against ABBL relegates, psyche a few teams by engorging the forums with your enlarged bank account.

Also - Slam i think will aim to finish 5th or 6th. Probably 6th, because that will give him HCA in relegation series and the extra moolah.

Vipers 8th
NSW 7th (well you'd like to hope anyways).
Slam 6th
Who cares above that. 1st, 2nd, they are all losers anyways. LOL

sorry ill never say the words engorged and enlarged in the same sentance again unless im referring to something with my teams name.

LOL

Why? Simple really: If I know my team isn't good enough---and I don't have the finances to make it good enough---to promote then it is a wasted season in my view. I would rather make plans that put me in a position to promote. I can easily see myself hovering around 2nd and 3rd in II.3 for seasons without cracking the ABBL. Coupled with this is my devastation at selling my two guards (Aussie: Johnny "Can't Do" Dogan and Argentinian: Marcelo "Hot Rod" Rodriguez) both U21 NT players. I have never got over selling them having trained them from pups. While Hot Rod was my favourite, had I retained them, finished off Dogan until he capped, I would have had tow studs. Dogan would have made the Aussie NT and I would have had the players to build around for a genuine ABBL foray. However, I baulked, sold up to bounce-bounce in the hope of making a stronger team and stuffed it...financially. I know exactly what to do this time. sadly, it will be a good five seasons before my team name, The Mighty Oaks, strikes fear into opponents. But the wait will be worth it and the prize...hopefully the ABBL.

Why did you sell your HOFer guard Bullock as well? He looked pretty good, I would have bought him if I had money at the start of the season.
