TT took that one fair. My coach did some rather bizarre things though, including playing my backup PG as a PF in overtime. Most of overtime was played without my starters, even though most of them hadn't played many minutes. The offisite match predictor had me at around 90% in this game (comparing last round where we were both at home), and then I pumped him up a category in several key ratings, and I was still at 75%. Fire sale soon.

I will say that one of the very few advantages a traditional approach to promotion seems to have over the slingshot approach is that you get a better feel for your opponents.

IMO Traptors has always been a tough match-up; his guys often have complete builds with more skills than their salaries indicate, and his player complement each other so that the team's sum is greater than its parts.

This might sound like a cheap shot, but Traptors is probably the last team I'd risk trying to sneak a playoff-normal past. And that is just because I've been in the league long enough to see over several seasons that he consistently seems to squeeze more out of his team than you might expect. It's just always a dangerous match-up when you play that team.

I don't think I underestimated them - he also beat me early in the season. To beat you though, I needed the enthusiasm. I perhaps unwisely decided to stay with the LI offense against TT, hoping that would leave you surprised when I came out with a motion.

Fire sale or not, I just got a good bargain. And surely I have the only team with two players named Eloy.

445 Days since our teams first squared off in this league.

Four guys from my team who played key minutes that night are still around to play some tonight. The same for your team.

The ratings have definitely gone up a bit since that first game though: http://www.buzzerbeater.com/match/36159154/boxscore.aspx

Congratulations, jfriske!
Rons were a better team and the best team fair and square!
Good luck in higher echelons, but if you are to come down again, you know which league to pick :)
Meanwhile I'm excited to carry on in III.6 and to have a go at some of my players!

Thanks! This league has been really tough for a while now so it feels good to finally break through back to D.II, where this time I at least think we should be ready to compete and at least try to not relegate.

It took a few seasons to put together a team that had enough talent to withstand all you guys, and then as always it also took some luck for things to break my way during the season. I don't think it will be much easier next season either, too many good teams left on both sides. So hopefully I do NOT end up back in this murderers' row of a league if things don't go my way next season :)
