What has been changed is the way that we play this game and the managers mentality, and i will explain:
When i started this game (at the middle of the 6th season), everybody was trying to create those mono skilled monsters like Silves (500k+ salary), and very few cared about the 2ndaries, and actually where right, since the LI/LP with 3 C's was working perfectly. Around season 9 GE changed, (correct me if i am wrong) and those kind of teams couldnt work. Actually i was one of those teams, and i got frustrating to the point that i was ready to quit the game, as you can see on that press release:
/community/pressblog.aspx?ThreadID=48880.
Then the next thread started:
(125704.1). For me it was a turning point to understand the game, and i dare to bet that the same happened to several managers like me. Ive learned a lot for what needs to run a good inside D, and in general how important are the 2ndaries. One of my main arguments was that you can train 6 skills on the guards without change a position, but for the big men only 4 with one being useless (SB, and still have the same opinion).
After several seasons, as an NT coach i saw that the large height actually affect only OD, and JR, while when you try to train a short guy to big men skills, is real pain on the ass, so now i can see how they balanced the deference.
To sum up, what it still keeps me on the game is the fact that after 8 seasons i still feel that i have lots of things to learn, and i guess thats the ''magic'' of the game...I dont feel that i am the smartest guy on the game, so i am sure that the same happened to thousand other managers, and they started to train there players accordingly.
