As I was scanning through the game today, I got up with these questions that might help me to have a deeper understanding of the game.

How does "Driving" affects a player's game exactly?
For a good inside scorer, does he have a good JS rating to go with his inside shooting?
and finally what does a player's experience do??

LOL might be some stupid questions but if you guys can answer them for me or some other experienced manager can I would really appreciate that.

Cheers

I'm sure there's plenty of guys in our league with more experience than me but here's what I think I know.

Driving affects the player's ability to make the right decisions when scoring/driving the key which of course has importance when you play certain offenses and in the positions they play (Eg. LI / SG etc). A guard with great Driving will, with offenses like LI for example, helps them to know whether to score or to dish off. Others will have more to offer on this I'm sure.

"...a good scorer have[ing] good JS..."

If we're talking about a PF, absolutely. A centre with great JS is very handy but not crucial unless in top leagues. If you are just asking whether any player, regardless of position, will be a better shooter if they have great JS and IS...I would say...yes. However, the position does inform this.

"What does a player's experience do?"

As far as I am aware, a player's Experience slowly increases with age and receives "mini-boosts", if you like, from playing in Allstar, Finals and NT games. As for how it affects a player I would suggest it acts as a sub level in Finals games. Again, I'm sure others will have more to offer on this.

Don't know if any of this helps, ZinGa...

PS You put up a good fight tonight and early on your boys looked good. I haven't checked your Box Score to see what eventuated.

Thanks there Matty :) I definitely think that driving have more impacts on a player than I know now. From what I know Driving should be one of the better skills on SF/PF. For the second question I meant that is a good inside scorer necessarily have good JS to come along with the IS, Like does a PF/C with Marvelous IS and Prominent JS score better INSIDE (THE PAINT) than a PF/C with Marvelous IS but only Average JS.

btw my boys did alright tonight in the first half, but they won eventually.

A PF/C with better JS would have to do better than a PF/C with less JS. Especially in a PF who will take the 3 point shot more often than the C.

Hey Matty and Zinga,

I would agree but add a couple of points I think to Matty's comments.

Driving - I believe driving is crucial with any shooters on any offense, driving gives your shooters not only the ability to drive the lane but also the ability to burn the defender to find a clear shot.

Experience - I think this is valuable mostly in close games, in the last couple of tense minutes of a couple of points experience helps the players make the right choices.

As Matty said I am sure there are much more knowledgable peeps out there than me but this is my understanding.

BTW Matty, XBB must still not be at full enth have dropped last nights against me without full team, I am interested though as how he plans on keeping his players GS if they don't get much minutes...

One season game left which I wish was against 8th, having said that playing won't affect my strats, enth is the most important thing right now even more than HCA...

Yeah, the last game won't count for anything as I have wrapped up HCA against XBB with you beating him last night. As for his tactics and GS...

...He tested some of his guns but not all of them in both the games against you and me. He will put them altogether against me next Tuesday night. As for GS, I wouldn't be surprised if he trains GS this week. Despite my disciplined training of my guards I'm also tempted to train GS; however, I maintain the GS of my players pretty well.

By the way, did you notice Urmummas purchase? He's definately as determined as you to take out this flag. His purchasing of a strong C rounds his team out beautifully.

As for our game: I, too wished it were against a bottom team. For me, having wrapped up HCA, it's all about GS and preparation for the final against XBB. I still have one roll of the dice remaining. Just haven't decided how big a move to make. Will probably hold back and make a small move in preparation for another season in this league.

Nice pick up ZinGa. That SF should do some damage in this league next season.

Thanks for the update SchaBoom, I gave you a ball for that one :)

As for the pick up today, that SF was an unexpected one. I just put the money on the table and went off. Hours later I found him in my roster. I believe you can get a better player with the same money, and TBH, his skills wouldn't surprise you too much.

With that last purchase I should be ready for the relegation match next week, however the opponent is variable.

Good Luck to you ALL!

Hugely concerned, I am not sure of my position at all anymore as he bests me in 3 from 5 positions.. Ah well, I will give it my best shot, assuming I get there anyway!

Otherwise sell out at Vikings as I will not be able to maintain this roster in DIII

Well, schaBoom, I chose to prepare for the final tonight instead of ahaving a crack at you. My bench didn't do too badly...kind of. lol Good win. I just hope I can beat XBB and then give you a real game, albeit on your home soil.

The game of the round was easily the Legends678 v Hawthorn FC tonight. The Hawks needed to win to steal fourth place from the Legends on percentage and the legends needed to win to keep the Hawks out! What a game. With 9 seconds left they were drawn on 113 points each. Hughes from the Hawks was fouled with 8 seconds to go and managed to sink one of the FTs giving them a 114-113 lead. The legends called a time out and prepared for one last shot to steal the win and keep their 4th place. The shot on the buzzer...missed...no foul...Hawks win by 1pt and steal 4th on the ladder by percentage!!!

Very unlucky, Legends. On the positive side though, by finishing in 5th at least you don't have to pay Player Salaries for the duration of the finals! That's handy.

Good luck everyone.
