11/18/2011 Pressure for PG
Daisaku Kawaida ↑popped↑ in Outside Def. from samuari to ninja.
Noritada Konoe ↑popped↑ in Outside Def. from ronin to samuari.

So good news for 1 U21 player and 1 ex-U21 player with fantasies about the NT someday.

Well we won but so we should against UAE who are ranked 30 below us but we actually lost the first half because you wont play the best team and again you have persecuted my player Konoe and left him out of the team so I cannot celebrate the fact that in the end we did come back and win.

Was his salary too low?
Nope 4th highest in the team and you played people with half his salary.

Was his DMI too low?
Nope 7th highest on the team and you played a lot of people with much lower.

Was his GS too low?
We had a long discussion about this and I explained exactly why it would have to take a hit this week and drop to respectable so I could win a critical game and get him 48+ minutes at PG for training so he would pop in OD which he did. But you played several other players at respectable GS. Takayama, Hirata and Torisei got to play.

Direct head to head at SG.
You had at starter:

Hironobu Yokotami (18297126)
Point Guard
Weekly salary: $ 16 829
DMI: 186700
Age: 21
Height: 6'0" / 183 cm
Potential: superstar
Game Shape: strong

Probably a good choice for the high passing in a LI offence.

But then at backup you have:

Hideyuki Honda (19825316)
Point Guard
Owner: Baikinman
Weekly salary: $ 11 786
Role: regular starter
(BuzzerBeta)
DMI: 92800
Age: 20
Height: 6'2" / 188 cm
Potential: perennial allstar
Game Shape: strong

Makoto Asada (19990551)
Small Forward
Owner: Miyazaki Freeters
Weekly salary: $ 10 433
Role: rotation player
(BuzzerBeta)
DMI: 80500
Age: 21
Height: 6'0" / 183 cm
Potential: MVP
Game Shape: strong

Instead of

Noritada Konoe (18297019)
Shooting Guard
Owner: Kyoto Shogun
Weekly salary: $ 17 480
Role: regular starter
(BuzzerBeta)
DMI: 104600
Age: 21
Height: 6'0" / 183 cm
Potential: allstar
Game Shape: respectable

Before I heard you make some argument about wanting to play players with potential. But you are happy to play this player...

Takayoshi Fukushima (18297014)
Small Forward
Owner: Baikinman
Weekly salary: $ 13 597
Role: rotation player
(BuzzerBeta)
DMI: 79300
Age: 21
Height: 6'8" / 203 cm
Potential: star
Game Shape: strong

Less potential, less salary and less DMI.

I can only assume that these belong to your friends and that is the reason for your bias. After seasons of training this is his one season to shine but it is being stolen by you. Up to now I have supported you but I see I made a huge mistake. I am very upset by this situation.

Thank you again for the good reply, it is lucky that you are always more calm than me. I haven't looked up the tactics used by the other managers but I can tell you mine. Konoe has played mostly PG which is not his best position on a team that has played princeton 1 time and LI 4 times. None of these help his shooting %. If I was playing motion or run and gun he would be hitting a much better %.

Even looking back at last season he hit a much better 31-94 3 PT shots (33%), the season before that 25-77 (32%) and the season before over 40%. Since I bought Sonoda the team focus has shifted and I read your recent experience with guards missing shots when you play LI. Same for Konoe. Same for Hirata, Honda and Asada who combined for 3-15 in the NT game.

Asada season FGs and 3s
FGs 34-53 64% 3PT 4-13 30%
Konoe
FGs 30-66 45% 3PT 1-9 11%

I also think the quality of the opposition means a lot.

Here is a summary of their games. I can't know cross matching on defence so have to just go with who it says.

Asada
G1
Base offence 15 minutes.
Against stunners played probably against Maghari a center getting training at SG, but there could have been cross matches.

G2
Motion 35 minutes against Fighters.
Probably played vs Pihla 16k guard.

G3
Base 35 minutes against you.
Played very well against 18k Casanavate who I can see right now. Good defender. Great game for Asada. But he was against a FCP that does give much worse defensive ratings and often means players are shooting over worse defenders.

G4
Push 22 mins vs Uni Says.
Slaughtered Hishikawa a 4k guy in inept GS.

G5
Looked Inside 35 minutes vs Kanazawa Kings.
They have an ok 19k PG.

So he has played JBBL but mostly against d2 standard opponents.

Konoe

G1
Looked Inside for 48 minutes against Otaku.
Their PG is a 17k guy but Konoe still hit 33 PTS.

G2
Looked inside for 35 minutes vs Northern Kyushu Ramen Kings
Their SG is Sullivan a 31k stud!

G3
Looked inside for 48 minutes vs Mad Ripper.
Their PG was a weak 4k out of shape guy but "MadRipper looked like the only team trying out there."

G4
Looked Inside for 48 minutes against Terry Bogard.
Lakštinis is a 37k guy in proficient GS and Konoe still did well.

So it is a myth that Asada is facing harder opponents in the JBBL, Konoe has a less suitable offence, has to play much more heavy minutes against much harder opponents.

So I think that explains the shooting % so far this season.

I think you should run Push The Ball in your next game. If the missmatch is with Sonada than he will still get his dunks and lay ups but you will open the outside with Konoe.

Well, wolph gave you advice to what you need to do. He said that Konoe needs more passing so I would give him two weeks of passing starting next Friday(unless he has the minutes at PG for tomorrow's training).
I am also a big believer in GS...example....I think a SG with 15 OD and 9 GS defends better than a 16 OD in 7 GS. The same for all the other stats. So it seems pretty cut and dry. You get Konoe some passing pops and get his GS up to 8 or 9 and your boy will get the starting nod for sure...
