DIVISION III.6


Good news Div III.6 – The Botwood Raptors are gone,
promoting after perfection.
Certainly the Cavaliers Raptors and Scarborough Mavericks are glad to be rid of them, perhaps ready to step out of the shadow and head toward a championship run.
Both teams have well stocked starting lineups and are ready to fight for the Great 8 title.

Right now the Big 8 is the small 8.
Any team stepping up can with this one including those that have just arrived from division IV.
Last year's Big 8 champ – The Petone Hurricanes (19-3) return with an underwhelming unit that can be easily toppled.
The balanced Chamoines currently sit as favourites after the arrival of PG Miaad Arastouei while the Windsor Warriors sport the top duo in Ignasio Desfar and Antonio Ibañez Irarrazábal plus a group of fine young unproven talent.
The Warriors enter season 4 in Div III after 14 seasons a level above, they surely want to head back there.

DIVISION III.7

A very strange things happened in this division last season, one of the top favourites took his ball and went home.
The Shufflers, upset with a transaction gone bad refused any further action and left behind one starting player.

The Dream Shakers might have promoted anyway but this certainly helped pave the way...The Shakers holding off the up and coming Quebec Pugs.

This League provides one of the few in Div III with multiple teams in each conference with rich talent, deep starting lineups and bonafide opportunities to promote.

The Canadian Steamrollers will give the Pugs a run for their money and then some in the Big 8.
A 2nd season in Div III after relegation has allowed the Steamrollers to save money and retool and they've done just that, assembling a completly new starting five in the off season.
The Pugs are not all they appear to be or not what they will be.
21 year Old Canadian Center Jeremiah Estep, 22 year old big man Pietro Paulo Staudacher and 23 year old SF Michalas Potamius present a star studded getting even better front court.

The great 8 has been the home of perennial contenders the Devildogs (5th season) and Mississauga Rainmakers (6th season) for awhile.
Plenty talent on both sides and both capable of moving on up.
Time to get it done.
The Smilodons have arrived from Div II and have some talent but their top shelf players are only 3 deep and the team is running out just 7 guys a night and they are sucking wind.

DIVISION III.8

No contest here right now.
2 teams promoted from this league last year but the bad news belongs to teams in the Great 8.

I Wor Kuen has dropped down after 8 consecutive seasons in Div II that included a season 15 trip to the finals and 3 game series in a battle to reach Naismith status.
Led by Italian backcourt mates Giuseppe Fratoni and Vittorio Berrettoni and 25 year old Canadian C Téo Lachapelle, I Wor Kuen should coast back to Div II.

The Green Machines might have the 2nd best team in the league but they sit in the wrong division...The only hope here is the influx of a pair of big time players if the Machines hope to compete for the conference.

On the other side, another Big 8 that can be won with a little financial outlay by any number of teams.
Jhak Telecom is the best of the bunch in the early blush of season 19 but there are ways for Rouge Et Or, Toronto Raptors 9 and the Toronto Assassins to make a run.
In fact, any team using the transfer wire right could win this one.

A DIV III Top 10

Hey Gunner - keep up the great work

DIVISION III.9

The Big 8 conference and really the whole DIV III.9 is all about 2 teams that have seen better days if not greater heights.
Serenity Now is almost Canadian Buzzerbeater royalty.
Around since season 2, their rich history includes 9 consecutive seasons in the vaunted Naismith...Recently however, not so much, with a 2nd season in Division III now in the past three seasons.
The Rugrats haven't fallen as far but still, a second season in Div III after 4 straight a level up has their fans uneasy.

These are 2 of the strongest units in Canada at this level.
Serenty Now rolls our perhaps the best starting 5 with a 1-2 punch tough to beat in back court mates Rotislav Suetin and Miguel Cruz.
The Rugrats also run out one of the top starting 5 at this level in the country, but right now, sadly, not even the best in their own conference.
A lot will depend on how these 2 clubs are run between now and playoff time.

Over in the Great 8...Everyone's lucky they're not in the Big 8.
The hall of famers seem ready for a run at the final with a solid if unspectacular starting 5, hoping a 5th season at this level is the one that leads them up.
The Canadian Swamplands show promise and should give the hall of famers a run for their money with Pangaa needing some tweaking to make it a 3 team party.

DIVISION III.10

With the perfection of Spider Wasp gone, Moth Ball drop down from Div II to take their place in the Big 8 but they din't bring the conference's best starting line up with them.
That honour goes to LeOPIG, led by Saudi Aradian C Ali Abu-Aziz.
Say this though about Moth Balls, Don Cherry could have put this unit together.
12 players, 12 Canadians...But there's work to do here.
Real Yella troops out the league's best player in Canadian PG Cory Landini but his salary has forced this team to be a 1 man gang.
With some work Fresh Off The Boat looks like a future contender.

Best team in the league though appears to be the Centennial Chargers led by American PG Tyrone Wall and Spanish C Marzal Velasco.
Father Bressani Eagles are not that far behind and could close the gap as twin tower 21 year old big men Sandro Pombo and Ralfs Jucis continue to improve.
Keeping an eye on the Southgate Gators would also be a good idea.

The contenders remains relatively the same. I'm cheering for you guys!

DIVISION III.11

Plenty of choices in this multi-talented league.
Start with the heart broken Squares who dropped a 3 set final to last year's promoting champs the Soul Crushers.
They'll have to do battle with a pair of worthy conference opponents in MaltonHG and TAKE YOU DOWN.
Both the Squares and MaltonHG run out solid 5 men units while TYD might need to add on to compete.

Meanwhile over in the Great 8:
A wonderful 2 team battle should rage all season long.
Few teams are as deep as the golden phantoms, they could probably compete in some DIV III conferences with just their bench....but it won't be easy...

-Toronto-raptors- throw out an even better starting line-up led by the best 1-2 punch in III.11 with Center Guillermo Parra and SG Khoa Nguyên backed by 23 year old Canadian PG Clive Adams.

DIVISION III.12

The Laval Giants may be the defending Big 8 champ and the hopeful after losing in last season's final but right now they don't have the conferences best team.
That belongs to the Crash Test Dummies, however the same could have been said last season.
The answer as to why 2 of their best players were transfered before last seasons playoffs remains a mystery.
Right now the duo of SG Siegrich Scholler, C Jukka Niemimuukku and supporting cast look strong enough to win.
4Minute put out a winning squad with a chance while East Side Rangers compete as well.

Over in the Great 8:
The Georgetown Hoyas look to head right back to DIV II.
They send out a mostly Canuck starting line up led by SG Jean-Yves Desroches.
Grand Raptor is ready to go toe to toe with them with a solid roster of starters and a bench to match.
Tsa 'aq can't be discounted but right now they consist of a big 3 in need of some help.
