The NBA seems to award the MVP to the best player on the best team in an overwhelming percentage of the cases. I am not sure I like that, although it will probably be extremely easy to code in BB
Yes, this seems to be the case currently, probably because this is the easiest choice to make (rather than the best). The problem for me is that the award becomes more of a team award rather than a player award.

A MVP should be able to carry his team to the playoffs no matter how worse his team is imo.

Just like LeBron James did with the Cavs.

But he hasn't gotten an NBA MVP award. :)

I dunno about you guys, but sometimes the player who gets M.V.P. is a washed up 29 y.o. who has a salary of 5-6k...

Doesn't seem right to me.

They also don't even have as great a season as an M.V.P. calibur player should have.

If they have the best season, it deson't matter how old they are or what they get paid.

I edited my message and said that they don't even have the best averages or anything like that in the league. Sure, if it was a 29 y.o. scoring 33 points and 20 rebounds per, i'd gladly give him the M.V.P. trophy.:P

Do you have any examples? I have not looked very much at the MVPs, but I haven't seen players that have not performed still recieving the MVP trophy.

Sorry I'm not good at linking stuff, but in season 5 in my league (II.1), Benoit Richard scored about 19 ppg and 12.5 rebounds, but was beaten out by Claude who was like, 8th or so for rebounding by grabbing 11 or so per.
