Great... does this mean in a few seasons we all race to buy uber monstrous players to help us out in a couple of games then fire them before the update?

I think if it ever came to this that a decision would need to be made. However, in the foreseeable future, I only see two scenarios:

1) The uber monster player is extremely rare and people will shell out big bucks to buy them.

or

2) The uber monster player has a high salary but is not really that useful to anyone's team because he only has one or two very high skills.

And then their team will be crushed by the expense and eventually sell them off for a fraction of what they paid.

500k/week player, under the current economic conditions, is unsustainable. Even if it was a homegrown player that ended up costing 20% less, 400k is still unsustainable.

Maybe unsustainable is a bad choice of words, since some teams could afford to spend that much on one player. Though, it'd be a terrible decision to carry a 400k player and then spend a small portion of that one players salary on the rest of your team.

Have to assume the player ends up with a farm team or bounces around the TL over and over after teams that can't afford them buy them for low prices and then go bot.

I think the only time you would consider that sort of purchase would be if you needed the player to compete/win, if you could get a rebate on his salary when he was injured AND if we started receiving income as we used to for cups games...

If all the above aren't ticked then the cost of training above triple Marvellous (big man example) isn't going to be profitable whatsoever.

I think that is too early to talk about player's salaries over 400K. The BB's modify some financial aspects because the players aren't good enough. So, when this happen, they will "fix" the economy system (i.e. More money from Cup Games, etc).

If I know that I'll have a player with a big salarie in the "further future", necesarily I'll prepare my team (Big Arena, balanced team, etc.)

Even if this don't work, I'll stop to increase habilities for that player, when he becomes "insustainable".... That's my duty as a manger.

yes its all true what youre saying but that wasnt my point. the point was that there will be lots of expensive players in a few seasons and less teams that can afford them. so the worse players with lets say 2x 20 will be affordable for newly registered teams because nobody else wants them. i also know that its the managers duty to make sure they can afford the players they buy but iam sure newbies will buy those monsters and then become bankrupt very soon and thats not what we want do we? we want buzzerbeater to grow. those newbies will say omg what a bad game is this and never sign up again.
second thing as somebody already said is that those players may be bought for a cupgame and then be fired without having paid his salary.
all this aint news.. hattrick had the same problems so why should buzzerbeater make the same mistakes?
just let the team pay the first salary immediatly after they bought the player

I think we are going to see less and less 20x2 players as time goes by. It isnt the new teams that are training these guys, it takes time. The more experienced trainers can get better value for thier training by spreading it around more, and the players are still within salary range affordable. This isnt Hattrick, wher one-skill heavy player do well. Why continue training these type players with astronomical salaries and weaknesses in thier game if no one will buy them?

I agree that Buzzerbeater would benefit from a larger base of players but not at the expense of the complexity of the game. If a player makes poor decisions, he must correct them or face the consequences. We shouldnt just eliminate risk to accomodate new players. Perhaps championing the mentor system would be a better solution.

Hmmm,

Brian James, are you suggesting the rate will be around 20% in Season 10 is it? I am very worried about such remarks. Seriously, look at my roster.

I feel at the start of Season 10 either homegrown salaries will drop or foreign players salaries will rise right? It has to be one of the two yes? So, I will be up the proverbial creek without the homegrown paddle then. Why? Because I wanted players with specific skills, and I wanted players who fit the offense I soon plan on executing. see my long term objectives are very focused, and I feel this tax break will hurt me severely.

Perhaps what I say is fear mongering, but c'mon, look at my roster.

From the season 8 news announcement:

Also, we be making good better use of player nationalities, and domestic players will be slightly (typically 10-20%) better economically than foreign ones. The details of this system are designed to be fair to countries of different sizes.

Nothing definitive has been stated, but there's been a lot of "hint hint, nod nod" towards it being a home grown player discount.

20% seems much is all. That number is what volted my response.

So a USA guy with all USA players has his team salary drop 20%, instantly giving him tons of spending money, while my team with very specific players who fit very focused rolls remains at the current payroll giving me a disadvantage against the rest of my league?

I like the game because I like not worrying about grabbing a guy from Cyprus or Korea and being hampered by such actions. Bridging cultural gaps if you will...I can comprise a varied team with a specific purpose. Rather metaphorical if you think about it. So now this game adopts the cold reality of race in society today in regards to segregation?

Please understand I have a high basketball IQ and I know exactly what skills are needed to run certain offenses. I've been slowly building my roster for a specific purpose. Now, my knowledge counts against me because I went out and got those guys. My hard work and countless hours on the TL learning it, understanding the game more, is now some guy who simply sat on his hands reward.

If this change is definite, I would like to see it pushed back until season 12.

Finding those specific players for your squad is hard, to find them within the same nationality is a lot harder. My point: even though other managers will be able to spend some more cash, they might be having trouble facing a well equillibrated team like yours.

What do you think about having the choice to stop training whenever we want to?

Like HT, wouldn't be a good idea to have an option that could help us in our future economy?

Just train stamina or free throws. Or even Game Shape.
