From what I count:

ESV Laim - 32 out of 92 which makes 60 to rebound plus 2 free throw missed that could be potential rebounds (if the last free throw).

Vitoria Devils - 32 out of 83 which makes 51 rebounds plus 4 potential free throws.

In total there would be 117 potential rebounds but there were only 111. It would be easy to consider just the free throws as not rebound but we should also take into account the last second shots (that do not have rebound).

Anyway, the diference between both teams is less than 10 rebounds!

Now each position:

ESV laim Vs Vitoria Devils

 PG SG SF PF C
7 - 1 3-5 10-13 15-19 14-24

Only on the PG position (which I suppose has a minor effect on the rebound rating) the ESV Laim where superior. And yes, I know that some players out there played more than one position but in general this is what happen.

So I don't really understand the ratings... (ESV Laim went with a 3-2 defense!) even with less available rebounds, ESV Laim should have been worst or the same in terms of ratings for rebound!

Except that ratings take an average of players skill levels, they do not account for the "throw of the dice" that decides who actually gets a rebound.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

i think the game has been decided on the outside too. so many more threes for laim than for vitoria, together with the TOs that made the difference I believe...

Agreed, which is where the 3-2 zone actually helped Laim. Vitoria's inside O was only slightly stronger and his offensive flow was not great, meaning (to me) that his guards were forced to take some shots they might not have wanted to against a very strong (prominent even!) outside D.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

Congrats to the new champion and to the finalist for their great run this year!

I am awaiting next season with excitement for another shot at the semis... But of course I first have to qualify for the B3!

Good PO everyone!

Today the Vitoria Devils won the Brazilian Cup again (4th time), and will be back in the B3 next season! Chances of repeating the great run are slim, but hey we all heard that before.
