You, more than anyone, have done your bit for the NT.

I'd do it again in a snap if I knew Innes and Mac would stay in England

I was planning to post earlier today, but decided to go about my own business and leave people to sort out their differences.

Now I see I don't need to post as Elmacca has very eloquently said what I was thinking. So thanks to him.

If I do need to reiterate:
At the end of the day, the main concern of this thread is the lack of NT guards coming through.

Haven't seen much here that offers insight into why that's happened or, more to the point, what can be done to sort it out.

It seems to me that our players are developed brilliantly to u21 level and then just go missing. I'd argue aged 22-24 players should be good to lead promotion charges from m div 3 to the EBBL. Or sold off to fund arena building.

At 25 and above, they should be centerpieces of staying in the EBBL or sold off (at which point EBBL teams should be all over them).

And EBBL teams need NT players to compete for titles.

Lets just stick to debating England's problems rather than our own with each other. I hate to take sides in this little issue, but since Vecx is threatening to walk I feel I have to.

I first talked to Vecx many seasons ago, in chat, while he was going through his 0-44 stretch to get to d3. I've known about his two trainees since he bought them. I've spent time with him watching countless u21 and NT games over a period of many seasons. First when Morwood was coach, then when Vecx took over, and of course during my own period as NT coach. His insights into the game/training etc are priceless. I'd like to think he gets something from our chats too. We can't afford to lose his input in this thread and elsewhere.

We really don't need Mourinho-like bollocks about Wenger being a specialist in failure. Nor do we need the distraction in this thread.

I think if one thing is clear, the EBBL isn't the only place we can find arrogance.

Trouble is they are B3-knock out level players so the only way to guarantee that is to keep them on your roster, as there is a good chance that some B3 contender with mega deep pockets will snap them up. Look what Gazza cost Mikramus, and he was 31...

At the end of the day, the main concern of this thread is the lack of NT guards coming through.
The problem with guards is that you really can't punt much anywhere (except JS+JR while pushing IS for PGs) and the salary will grow quite quickly. Also training them for the NT would require to set up the elastic effect so that in later seasons the player will still pop reasonably fast. This might work a bit against getting the player in the U21.

Again: I've seen advice to avoid 1v1 at the beginning and I believe that's just plain inefficient from a training perspective. If the people who trained NT guards could share their insight, it would be great.

Training skills in a different order might yield very very different results (due mainly to the elastic effect). I think generally this information is not so easy to find on the forums, but it is vital knowledge which should be available to every English manager. Perhaps I will try to collate information on this which is already available on the forums and create a new post, when I have the time.

Mac is solid but Innes is the gold, he is basically Hána (who I modeled my training plan around) with a bit more added. He is over or equal to him in all but 1 stat which I am working on ;), the only thing he lacks is experience. But can I cope with 5 more seasons without doing another training drive? - I so want to try an SF / SG lol

You're itching for permission to go on another losing spree but you're not getting it from me.

Nor me. It's high time you found a way of beating me, before I complete my rebuild.

That sounds like a good project.
