Players can watch video, games etc.. For most the regimens they need minutes in an actual game. so having improvements in any skill is realistic.

What is unrealistic is....
Any player not designated to improve by the GM doesn't improve....

If real world GMs could make a player improve...man I'm sure they'd be happy. As it turns out though players really develop as a matter of their own commitment and the coaches would work on every players. Some guys end up like Darius Miles, very few like Michael Jordan and most somwhere inbetween.

To me realistic GM control on training would be getting better trainers to improve the overall rate of improvement and to choose coaches/trainers which focus on certain skills, causing a higher rate of improvement in those skills (usually goes hand in hand with the primary offensive/defensive tactic of said coaches)....

All players should improve constantly, but at different rates and as is currently set up, all players should also see drops in skill. That would be realistic....

I agree with this.

I just thought of it right now, (this looks like for suggestion thread forums but I'm not sure if it is a good suggestion). Instead of the 10% cross training, split the 10% to all the players in the roster. That way, every player will constantly improve but at a very slow rate.

So training will look like 90% a set of players, depending on the manager's choice. Then around 10/15 %= 0.67% random training to all the other players which may or may not include the player that receives the 90%. Of course that number can be changed.

OD on an 18yo trainee:

Outside Def.: mediocre ↑
Handling: strong ↑
Inside Def.: respectable ↑

This is not cross training, as we already know OD trains ID, HA and DR as secondaries.

so the slow down isn't that worse ;) I quite sure this would happen even without crosstraining.

Do you know how much of an increase from 7.9 to 8.0 is? Is is too much?
According to the CoachParrot, an increase of .1 is about $50 for a PG with 8 reb and about $21 for a PG with 2 reb. You can't seriously be whinging over that. Add one lower tier seat to your arena and you will pay it off quickly enough.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

you guys are really too stupid too understand and unwilling to read what i write. so who is whining using a stupid example? i was talking about 1 or 2 FULL pops extra that you can easily get during a full career off cross training. full pop i am not talking about 7.9 to 8. I am talking about 7.0 to 8.0. On a high end guard 2 levels even 1 level adds alot extra salary to a shooting guard. read what i am writing. not so much to a point guard or a small forward. I am talking about a shooting guard. do i want to have 1 or 2 rebounding on my shooting guard? for that amount off monster salary on top off the actual salary? no i dont.

on a high end guard the difference between level 7 and level 9 rebounding is between 25 and 30k. this is not 50$ or 21$ per 0.1 skill. i wont calculate what it really is for you, because you act like you are highly intelligent and i am sure you can calculate that for yourself. if you have 2 high end guards that adds quite a lot to your salary... and i have added 1 lower tier seat to my arena, i learned something new from you today and i am greatfull for that. 1 lower tier seat earns you 25k per seat :)
