Personally, I like the effects of the arena update as how it effects me personally, and the merchandise boost, and all that.
Looking big picture:
This update, does nothing to help encourage new users. It does nothing to help anyone but let the rich get richer, or help people tanking and saving money, dump a little money out of the game now, to massively increase their money longterm later. This update does little to help competitive balance, or make it more appealing to new users. This is just a "rich get richer" thing.

Here is my take and recommendation:
The arena is a good try but I think too much time on development for the outcome of the users. Most of us still are trying to buy seats in the arena before we can drop $$$ on cosmetics of that arena without knowing the outcome. I have not seen any increase in attendance for my players making the national team, I just think this will be the same.
I would recommend offering bonus money to teams who teams who's player makes the all-star game even coach it. This way even a losing team has a chance to make a few dollars for his one star. Even a attendance boost for a team win streak or something like that.
I believe the game could use more ways to make money especially for the users so they can purchase the improvements being sold. Right now this is only for the old rich teams.
So to recap - Reward the teams with money along with maybe some achievement milestones. This is like your boss saying, "Hey good job, now you can buy from this store but you still don't have a $ raise to do so." Thanks boss.

I repeat, my attendance for MY TEAM for my national player has not shown me an increase in attendance slightly nor major. You tell me how can that be measured?

Your attendance may or may be not grow... there are so many variables in there that is dificult to say... but for sure your merchandising has, a lot more if the national player is from your own country

I stand corrected on the merchandising. It did go up 3 to 5k since he has been on the team. Good Job BB! now if we can make that information more transparent that would be good.

This is a loan that users make to the "treasure". The higher the loan, higher is the loan interest (+25k/week forever on a 4M loan), on a long term prespective. The higher the loan, higher is the revenue, and longer the user is compromised to stay in the game. From a game longevity view, maybe it's a good measure.
