Because non-supporters would need to be online to bid?

wxactly, because thats like the live games. You could trade easily in giving some bids on players in advance, and if you know your opponent is not online won't forget a bid etc. this would frustrate me also if i bid manually especially if it bid with tiem strategies.

ah okay, well then make it for everyone :P Would that make it a more appealing suggestion? :P

Having it just for supporters would make a lot more people become supporter( I think) so it would be better for the game in the long run.

You said that "the only way to make auto bid work is to set your limit higher than anyone else is willing to pay". How is that different to not having auto bid, the only way you can get a player is by paying more than anyone else is willing to pay.

The big difference is that auto bid will allow the entire community to bid on players. As I mentioned can you imagine 10,000+ users trying tho purchase the same player. The way the current system is it allows bidders to compete against only the online users, therefor leveling the playing field.

As a relatively new player I see the value in being able to shop for deals. With an auto bid those deals become almost non exsistent. Players will go thru and search for HOF players that are 18-19 and set there auto bid, making it impossible for newish players to steal one of these players in a late night auction. A TL deal is something that has substantial value imo and should not be taken away.

Why is allowing the entire community to bid on players a bad thing? Do you mean that it stops people with more money just buying any player they want because they have more money? If so, it doesn't really, it just makes it harder because it means they have to stay awake to do it.

I understand shopping for deals. But an auto bid doesn't stop that. Players that use autobid on a player, could just as easily bid the value they set in autobid on that player, in which case it makes no difference.

It will make it alot tougher to get a player you are after. I like a 1 in 1000 odds compaired to a 1 in 10,000 chance. The other more major thing that does is drive prices up even more. The old supply and demand theory applies!!! The supply does not change but the demand would. More users able to bid equals more demand.

I totally disagree. Auto bid completely stops that otherwise they should bid what they want to pay right off the bat. Imagine logging on in the wee hours to find that diamond in the rough. A player with a 200k value that has a current bid of 85k, so you wait and place a last minute bid of 100k. Surely since there are only 280 users online, you have a great chance at this player. And then poof...auto bids kick in. You raise 2k, auto bid raises 2k......and so on til the bid reaches 250K. You check to see the manager who you are against hoping you can gauge his finances/intent only to find out he is fast asleep. Pretty non dramatic if you ask me. It is like bidding against the bank on an E-Bay auction, boring!!

haha true, I guess I just figured it gives players that have to be asleep a chance to buy players they might not otherwise be able to get. And no one likes just going out and bidding maximum value straight up, or at least I don't.

I am not a big fan of going with a max bid right away either, but there are plenty of other bidding stratagies.

Not if the player is going to sell while you are asleep.

True. I usually only search for players that are available when I can be online, so feel that is an ample compromise.

This is a really bad idea. First of all it will add a lot of server load.
There are plenty of times I have woke up in the middle of the night in order to bid on staff or a player. I seldom am the only one from "wrong timezone" bidding. So I am strongly against auto-bids, if you want a player -> wake up to bid for him or set the initial bid high enough to get him.
