If you face a good PF, you will get crushed in the outside.

Are you guys for real? I mean you are giving an advice to D.V guy to train his PF's OD and JR? Thats hardly the best way for him to improve his young team. Truth is both OD and JR are nice for a PF but so are DR HN PS. In fact every skill is good for PF. But they are by no means critical and I'd say that you can easily get away with 4 OD 2 JR PF. Imho just train his main skills and give him an occasional JS or DR training. Forget OD and JR. They are more of a luxury rather then necessity.

a random choiche, maffai had JS 9 when i remember rigth when he was on TL, like most guys i am facing and even with the neutral offense it doesn't look like they search the matchup, which gives bad pp100.

My backup also have OD 4, so you could look at random games, only when Malaguiti(A SF who is sometimes Backup) plays, i got some OD at this pos.

Maybe because you played 3-2 the other team's PF was weak outside... don't know. It's weird because players look to their best shot and with your PF having 4 on the OD they should shot better.

my guard could defend, i am pretty sure, it isn't all only matchup else my one OD center would get opposed at every game ;) And you could be sure, that at my level 90% of the PF could shot.

I disagree. With the present in-game defensive switching, your outside players will sometimes defend a PF taking outside shots, taking the pressure off your own PF to do so. And frankly, if the other guy's best offensive option is to have his PF chucking up perimeter shots, I'll play him any day. I have better perimeter shooters and defenders in my backcourt than any PF except maybe the absolute best (maybe). Training PFs in OD is a waste of time and opportunity and shouldn't be done unless your PF is already ridiculously good inside.

So you think a PF is just a Center with some Jump Shot? And if your outside players defend the PF, then the guards and the SF will be wide open and will score easily.

i think the answer is inbetwen, it isn't a useless skill but not a crucial one. As you said the "modern" BB Sf are mostly centers with high JS, who didn't get train in extra Training in OD and even against each other they aren't dominant scorers i know very few team where the SF is the top scorer or close to it(even when it is right for my team).

Do i need to train Jump Range and Outside Defense for PF??

Because my PF has 7 Jump Shot, 1JR...Is JR training good for him??and how long should i train him??

depends on your offense if u play inside i guess not realy
but if u play like my team and shoot more 3s then yes lol even my c's score 3s all day.
but 3pters are a nice pick up when ur down which is why i like to implant em in my whole team

The original poster should simply re-read this advice.

Aside from training JR from Atrocious... ask yourself what are the chances of this player being with you in 2-3 seasons? I imagine you may train then sell and re-invest in a better trainee? If so, and you feel that your next PF needs to be a bit more versatile, shop about for one with better starting stats that can be improved... truth is you could spend 1 season on OD and JR training for the wrong height player and get 3 pops in total.... during that time you could get his primary skills up by a minimum of 2 each (RB/ID/IS)... whats more important to you and the growth of your team only you know but I would bet the 2nd option by far.
