Yes, I would buy a real PG too. But he's in Division 5 so the low passing stat shouldn't make him completely useless as a PG. I would play him more at the other positions if I had a better option for point.

Actually, he probably gets the SF label because his jump shot is higher than his other skills. If his range goes up, he'll change to a SG.

I was just the players skills into the salary calculator to test my theory. It seems that he is a SG up until he hits average ID. With his ID and REB at mediocre, 1 pop in either changes him into a SF. With his skills as they are, he will have to increase his JR to prominent to be a SG, then 2 pops in either JS or ID will change him back to SF.

If he is because his a SF because of his high JS, then what position is this player?

Jump Shot: tremendous Jump Range: strong
Outside Def.: mediocre Handling: average
Driving: awful Passing: average
Inside Shot: prolific Inside Def.: strong
Rebounding: respectable Shot Blocking: respectable

That is not technically correct. He will make a fine SF. At the very least I will have him defend at SF due to his ability to defend both inside and outside.

I never said he would not make a fine SF. What I said was "I think he would be more beneficial to be trained in OD, handling and passing until he caps as his JS and JR are good enough for PG but will have weaknesses against other SGs in higher divisions"

Star potential limits his ability to become a top level player as far as an all round package (which is vital as a SF) goes in higher divisions should promotion be the goal (which would be pointless playing if it wasn't). I believe that while this team is still in the building stage, a trainee with his skills and relatively low potential would be perfect to train as a PG who is purely OD, handling and passing. With his JS and ID could even still be played as a SF when needed, but would be more effective in the longterm trained to get the most of his low potential cap.

Probably a PF until his outside skills, especially outside D, improve marginally. A pop or two in outside D would probably make him a SF according to the game. The best position label is just that, a label, and isn't to be taken too seriously.

and also a bit of stamina and free throws wouldnt hurt either... free throws are vital because of all the last minute fouling that happens
