I don't think it is a terrible strategy. I know there are many many teams that do it.
If he tanks, the first half of the season then he can be making a lot of money every week, don't know exact figures but probably close to 500k? Maybe less, maybe more.

I didn't advise anyone to not bother training if I remember correctly. I said that I wasn't training because I didn't think it was worth it. There is a difference.

Even if he loses every game he will still be making massive amount of money. And he will be training 6 players in 2 positions which will get him some solid players that he can keep or sell for profit.

He is currently 17-0 in his division, I think he knows how to manage a roster, economy and tactics, and even if he doesn't know he will learn as he goes.

As for selling his whole team, based on salary he doesn't have any really great players, so he wouldn't get much money from the players even in a good market. So I don't think it will make much difference.

wowow, 500k??? Not even close. Currently my weekly net income is 145k. If I get promoted, i'm guessing that the TV contract will be higher so I'm hoping that my weekly net income will be around 200k.
And I won't exactly follow your advice Naker but I'll do something similar to that. For example instead of selling most of my players, I'm planning to keep 5 or 6 of my current players (I'm planning to sell the rest once I get the fresh-men). Depending on how good the fresh-men are, I may sell them, perhaps not etc. But anyhow, I'll have around 6 trainees and 4 other players (I prefer having 10 players) will be the ones that I'll not train and will just be in my team to manage the gameshape.
And Chris902, I'm still a beginner but I read every single forum that are there and am gaining knowledge about this game. I'm fully aware that everybody has a different strategy and there may be a conflict between players as to which strategy is the best etc but I'll be considering all the advice that's given and combine them (if they work) to come up with my own strategy. Perhaps completely following Naker's advice may not be the best idea (but who knows...) but I'll at least follow some of his advice. Afterall, I still need a lot of advice, so I'll consider any advice that works for a particular team.

Remember that in div 1 you will be able to set all your prices to the max and you will probably still sell out. That is where the extra income comes from :)

Sry but I gotta disagree on part of what u said Naker.

My bro plays this game too. And he's in a similar situation as the OP. Division III in a small country thats full of bots. He logs in jus to rotate preset rosters from previous games. And TIEs every single game.

You don't really learn much playing against bots unfortunately.

But as for the rest of the 'strategies' I guess thats up to individual managers to decide really. :)

True, but he does have some human managers in his league (5 others) and he has beaten them so I think he knows at least a little bit. :)

TV contracts are tied directly to the total combined player salaries of every team in specific league so it differs season to season and league to league.
