It is a huge thing Manon.

Please don't disrespect my right to whine about absolutely nothing.

If you take a powerful enough magnifying glass and look REALLY close... you'll be able to see the hot air I'm blowing disgruntledly has some substance.

Seriously!

I know a player who tanked an entire season last season and got the top draft pick. He spent $20,000-$40,000 every week on scouting and got the best player in the draft.

Graeme Smith (18085248)
Small Forward
Owner: amos rogues
Weekly salary: $ 4 665
Age: 18
Height: 6'2" / 188 cm
Potential: star
Game Shape: respectable

Is his market value worth even one week of scouting? The draft is very random and cruel.

The opposite extreme is

Jone Bogan was pick 32 in the season 11 draft by adams guns.

Transfer 3/26/2010 12 Purchased from adams guns for $ 4 161 600

$4,000,000 for pick #32! Wow. That sale sent the team involved straight to the ABBL.

We estimate that a top quality division II team in Australia has players worth from about $7,000,000-$10,000,000. That one lucky draft gave that player half of a division II championship team.

PS: There is one more piece to this puzzle. Jone Bogan is probably the best trained player I have ever seen. After 3 1/2 seasons of single position training he is by far the best player in the Aussie U21 team and will be a regular fixture in the senior team for seasons to come. So after that huge investment and all those seasons of work how much did his owner sell him for?

Transfer 2/27/2011 15 Purchased from 羞死屯火箭队 for $ 5 101 100.

Ouch!

While I get that we aren't supposed to be able to use those lists until after the all star break, I got mine and used it.

The only way it becomes a problem is if someone in a league gets access to the feature while someone else in that league doesn't. So we'd have to see if thats the case before it means anything.

Yeah this is the reason why draft is more or less luck whether you can scout or not. If you scout players, it just increases the chance of not getting rubbish players, but there's still chance that even players with 5 stars are totally crap.

I've seen him on the marker few days ago. His owner was trying to sell him for 10 millions, but nobody bought him.

And he hasn't received only single position training. Jump shot and 1 on 1 are two position training.

The original drafting player sold him for 4 million and got a free trip to the ABBL.

Transfer 3/26/2010 12 Purchased from adams guns for $ 4 161 600

The Chinese guy who bought him spent seasons giving him the best training I have ever seen. One position where possible with, I believe a level 7 trainer. After all that work his reward was.

Transfer 2/27/2011 15 Purchased from 羞死屯火箭队 for $ 5 101 100

Now the guy who is constantly trying to sell him for $10,000,000 has been playing since july 2009, has a roster of 27 and this is the second player he has ever bought. Bizarre.

Somewhere I read Chinese BB community is known for a lot of farm teams who have 7-level trainer, draft or buy best prospects and give him nothing but best training possible...that's why they are among top teams with U-21.

It's also funny how China U-21 roster looks...14 players, of those 7 centers and 7 shooting guards Does China's U-21 coach know something we don't?
